Johnhello guys,
was wondering if any of you knew whether servicing is still available during lockdown and whether you can still get a courtesy car as you would not be permitted to sit in the servicing bay and I would rather not wait around at the bmw dealership for 2 hours + again.

I had my car serviced a few weeks ago before current lockdown but they did not want me going and waiting like I normally do so they collected and returned the car to and from the KIA dealership. I don’t mind waiting because I can’t have a courtesy car because of my cars adaptions but on this occasion I thought it the best thing to do.
I had an e-mail from my local KIA dealer last week saying there still open for servicing and repairs but my guess is they won’t want you to sit and wait and chances are because of sanitising the cars you won’t get a courtesy car.
Just some of my thoughts but of course BMW may take a different route for servicing.
November 11, 2020 at 12:07 pm #129124The service centre within your dealership will remain open for all regular servicing and any repairs, however please bear with them as this could take longer than usual whilst operating with social distancing measure in place.
As for a courtesy car, one may have to wait longer for one, but i imagine they are still available as they are still allowing test drives. Each dealership maybe different. So only they can really tell you about that one..

RICHARD WAITESI also wondered but then thought that I’m sure it can wait so I’m going to book for after lockdown. Seems to be the easier option for all concerned
November 11, 2020 at 12:34 pm #129128Richard It depends what it needs to go there for and what your mileage is etc. If you go over the set amounts and something happens that could be on you and also will make the car less desireable if it serviced later than stated in the service schedule. So worth calling them and booking it in as it won’t be much different to when we not in lockdown. but only the dealer in question will know.. best to call them imo

RICHARD WAITESJust checked in the car and my service due in 2100 miles relates to the front pads. They said to give them a ring when it drops to 1000 and book it in. I wrongly assumed it was just due a general service

We wanted to update you with how BMW can support you during the latest COVID-19 restrictions. In line with the latest government guidance, our BMW Centres in the UK will be adapting the way they work. Protecting our customers and our staff is our first priority so most of our showrooms need to close. However, we’re still open for business and some BMW Centres will stay open for car handovers. Our BMW Service Centres will remain open for servicing and repairs.
For more information or to check which services are available at your BMW Centre, you can contact them directly or find out more online.
