      <p style=”text-align: center;”>Hi all,</p>

I’m in the market for a new motability car within the next couple of months and was wondering if anybody knew if the new Seat Leon FR ‘Black edition’ would be coming onto the scheme?

It’s replaced the FR sport which was previously on the scheme. Motability’s website is rubbish, so I’ve given up checking there for updates. They still list the 2.0 petrol FR even though it’s been discontinued.

I’m trying to decide between the Focus ST line and the Leon.

(have been holding out to see if the Focus ST (not just the ST-line) comes on the scheme but I don’t think it will before I need to order!

      Cheers

Not sure about the FR Black Edition being added but the FR Sport is still listed –  might not be able to get one as a factory order but as its one of the more popular trims there’s a good chance a dealership will have one in group stock.  Pretty sure its only a few minor tweaks like larger wheels and back wing mirrors but otherwise the same as the FR Sport.

The petrol Focus ST is over the BHP limit and given the current negativity around diesels it I’m not sure they would add effectively a diesel only trim but who knows, stranger things have happened on the scheme lol.

You could keep an eye on SEAT’s Motability price list, see if they update it but there’s been so much on and off with them recently anything could happen. They don’t seem to be able to decide what to make or not make from week to week.

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the Focus ST, it’s over the BHP & price caps.

If I seem a little strange, that's because I am.

The price cap is becoming more like a guide than an absolute. A number of the Volvo XC40 on the scheme are over the cap and I think some of the Tiguans are also. If the manufacturer wants to shift certain models they could make it to the scheme. For instance we have a Volvo XC60 on the scheme which retailed at £38,000+.

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.

That’s true my tiguans invoice price was nearly £37k and I had no problems with motability allowing it.

I think the new petrol focus ST is 275 ps so way over the 200 bhp cap.

I have just placed my order today for the Leon sport tourer fr black edition for delivery on 24-09-19, dealer managed to locate one for me, its at the docks in the UK. Motability accepted my order after I cancelled the xcellence lux 2.0 tdi because delivery was being delayed until after xmas, glad I did cancel now.

£99 Magnum, Bristol st Seat in Brum were matching the Pentagon offer of £250 off AP when I enquired by email but customer service was pathetic, they tried to get me to accept an xellence spec and offered £350 off AP but the car was built in February making it 7mths old, wonder why they are stuck with this particular car.

The new focus diesel st is 190psi and 29k so should be available at some point,I have had my diesel st now for 26 months and it has been faultless I’m keeping a lookout for a bigger motor next time and have decided  on a seat terraco or vow Tigan.

                          we shall se Richard

Out of curiosity I just Configured an FR Black Edition and while it looks lovely, those aren’t tyres – they’re just a lick of black paint!

                                  😀

Yes the wheels look best with the black paint but with the red paint look terrible imho

They do.  They really, really do.  And if I still could, I definitely would.

We used to have a black Clio with skinny wheels (19″, I think), and while it looked like the Bee’s whiskers and the handling was exciting around the back roads of West Sussex, the ride was . . . more than a bit on the ‘firm’ side.

Probably had nothing to do with my spine collapsing ten years later.  Probably.  But from now on it has to be full, fat tyres for me.  My Astra GTC had 17″ wheels and my Golf GT has 18″ and I can feel the difference.

According to auto express this week the seat Leon does not fair very well in build and reliability owners have reported even the fiat panda scores better as known Toyota fairs well although the new corolla is not listed yet as its only been out a while.

Find that strange, Daveblue. I’ve had my SEAT Leon ST for nearly three years and absolutely nothing has fallen off.  Everything still works as it did the way I got it.  Nothing rattles or squeaks either.

All this if it isn’t a VW/BMW / Mercedes then it isn’t well made tend to be badge snobs imo.  I’m fact for the first time in over twenty years I’ve ordered another car from the same manufacturer in succession; expecting delivery in early November of my SEAT Tarraco Excellence 150 diesel DSG.

This is in last weeks auto express i had a seat ibiza and a leon and although i did not do much mileage a dsg by the way i did not have any problems i presume its the complainers that write into auto express i do know that the Toyota are good though and Lexus i have a mini on order dct and that fairs not too bad as its bmw but you just order what you like at the end of the day.

Also had a Leon St three years.Zero problems and great customer service to boot.

only changing to a focus as don’t like the black edition looks wise.

Picked up my Black edition on Tuesday, really good looking car, got the 1.5 evo  150bhp  manual gear box, no stuttering or kangarooing, drives well, opened mail today and got my £600 good condition bonus, quick work by the motability team 3 working days.
