Test driving this tomorrow. Have the opportunity to get it now (£995) or wait until December …Is there a very realistic chance the price will increase dramatically ? Thank you

My opinion:
It’s cracking good value now considering the car and spec. I’d say it’s likely to increase October 1st
I test drove one recently and liked it, but it has 20″ wheels as standard, so make sure you are happy with it over broken lumpy surfaces. For me it was too jittery.
But range, tech, performance all impressive.

September 5, 2024 at 11:06 pm #288004ooooh….Can you actually do that then??? do they reduce it ? lol
September 5, 2024 at 11:08 pm #288005oh wow I didn’t even think about how 20″ could make the drive unpleasant ! thank for the heads up. I will pay attention tomorrow . hopefully it’s not too bad. thank you
September 6, 2024 at 7:28 am #288012I couldn’t get my small folded chair in the boot, the car doesn’t seem as big on the inside as out.
But if it works for you and you’re happy with £1k price, order it.

20inch wheels work well and the drive is excellent on the Megan E Tec but the Scenic is bigger and heavier by about 33 stone so imagine thats the reason for the mentioned drop in drive quality/handling
September 6, 2024 at 1:09 pm #288028I have one on order due to be delivered at the end of the month.
Test drove it a while back and found it was excellent. Didn’t notice any problems with the ride, in fact thought it was very smooth. For comparison I drive a VW Tiguan Allspace.
The boot is a lot smaller than the Tiggy, but I can still get my sons large wheelchair in there if I take the wheels off. A compromise I’m happy to make. On the upside the cabin space in the rear seats is amazing, which is exactly where we need it. Other cars like the Enyaq have larger boots but the rear seats are much more cramped compared to the Scenic. Similar space but laid out differently.
If the 20″ wheels do concern you then switch to the even cheaper Techno which comes with 19″. The spec is almost identical with only a few cosmetic things missing. And its a fair amount cheaper.September 6, 2024 at 6:12 pm #288053I test drove it today!!! I absolutely loved it. my only dilemma now is the black or shadow Grey lol. I liked the way it drives and they were so lovely at the show room. A far cry from DS (ive had the DS3 e-tense for 3 years and DS are horrible to deal with) Having decent sales staff and people in the show room makes the world of difference . didn’t treat me or make me feel “different” like DS did. I did like the Matte Grey but apparently its a pain in the bum for scratches and marks
September 6, 2024 at 6:51 pm #288056Glad you enjoyed it!
Shadow Grey would have been my choice, looks great with the black accents.

So we have ended up with diamond black. Im ok with that, it looks really smart. Not looking forward to washing it every five minutes!
September 7, 2024 at 9:31 am #288075is the diamond black a solid basic black or metallic type finish? and yes I have had black cars my whole life (excluding my first was a rover metro in white) SO I know about the continuous washing . I have a great step dad who absolutely LOVES washing cars and he is very helpful with my situation .
September 7, 2024 at 9:34 am #288076I believe it’s metallic.

September 9, 2024 at 1:17 pm #288171I’ve never rated Renault but after the ongoing drama with Skoda I’m actually very tempted by this!
September 9, 2024 at 1:27 pm #288172I’ve currently got the ionic 5 on order, but who knows when or if we will even get them anymore.
I looked at this at the weekend and it was very impressed with the car. Didn’t test drive but looked great.
currently have an Ateca FR Sport. Boot did seem small to me on this. Can anyone tell me the current wait time on the alpine model. Also is anyone able to upload photos

Tbh I also never use to rate renault
And over the past 10yrs I would simply bypass their showrooms
But here I am a year later having heard such good reports with my Megan E Tec which still puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it
Not to say the bigger/heavier Scenic would drive quite as good as the Megan but its looks/size and quality tech is way up there imo
Renault have come leaps and bounds in such a short time imo
The drive quality imo is exceptional even with 20 rims
I would suggest everyone get up close and have a test drive before dismissing as Im sure they will be pleasantly surprised at Renaults offerings and also some of their APs

Funnily enough just got off the phone with our local dealer in Newcastle, they only have the 1 test vehicle and no chance of an extended test, might just have to bite the bullet as only got till Thursday to try and sort something.
September 9, 2024 at 6:58 pm #288197I collect mine on Monday 16th sept, ordered from Renault Newcastle was told December for delivery but a cancellation came up so getting it next week, very happy as its an amazing ev! Renault dealer in Newcastle is extremely helpful and staff are fantastic!
September 12, 2024 at 9:21 pm #288477Ordered this today, end of dec delivery time advised.
Was given a couple hours test drive and was impressed. Wife loves it, the issue we have now is that we aren’t sure the wheelchair will actually fit!
if it will, it will be extremely tight, but they don’t have one with the level floor so we can properly test.
wife is inclined to get it anyway and buy a slightly smaller wheelchair that folds and reclines if it doesn’t fit.

Always good to have a spare chair available 👍 and the scenic is IMHO a very good deal at the moment.
I am really looking forward to the freedom this car is going to give me in the coming months/years! Can’t wait to get out of the house once again.
September 13, 2024 at 8:29 am #288495Strangely, not remotely, as its the actual load opening thats the issue, and without the flat floor its almost impossible to measure accurately, and it is such a tight thing. ridc hasnt got it on their lists yet
We may have an issue with the people hoist too now, not sure it will be able to be fitted, the dealer has rang the adaptions people, but I wont know until Saturday when he is back in.
Wife currently has a Pride Fusion tilt and recline wheelchair, and we can’t find one that offers both those and in a smaller footprint 🙁
At this point, we are both feeling a bit flat, as we both actually loved the car, and really didnt want to start looking all over again 🙁
