This I think is the post referring to?
Q3 pricing now just over a month away. Unlikely to be any change in Motability rules so will be interesting to see how fluctuating exchange rates coupled with new engine/gearbox replacements by some manufacturers will affect availability and delivery of models. Awareness needed also concerning real availability of numerous vehicles which, should, become clearer around this time next month as Manufacturers pricing for the upcoming quarter become available. EU exit negotiations are unlikely to be a major factor this time but could become a bigger influence as we head towards 2019 depending upon the progress, evidenced progress, unresolved issues and general anticipation of the outcome of the negotiations and, of course, its perceived and actual impact on foreign currency exchange rates and other fiscal matters and concerns

I don’t think urs insight at all. One persons views.
insight will be “look for new car xxx in Q3” etc
May 26, 2018 at 6:59 pm #51863These are “strategic” factors which may well affect pricing and delivery depending upon the outcome of “brexit” and quite possibly the availability of certain vehicles.
It’s far too early to expect to see any prices or indications for Q3 yet. I’ll throw my hat in the ring and say very little change from Q2. There is normally something which catches most of us out so I predict a “surprise”, perhaps an Electric car or a model we thought we might not see. Crystal ball gazing, nothing specific.
May 26, 2018 at 7:13 pm #51866I agree fwipperie, at this moment in time it’s only about what we would like to see in Q3.
The Hyundai ioniq phev would make a welcome addition to the scheme, not sure if the ev variant will come on the scheme yet, but sure it will happen given the popularity of the hybrid variant.

Hi Trev
Do you have info that we don’t know about or does your crystal ball give you accurate information and you have the foresight to give us snip pits to keep our interest!
I would love to see the Hyundai Ioniq PHEV on the scheme, if so i would be first in line to get one!!

<p style=”text-align: right;”>Perhaps new Kia Ceed shall appear at tail end q3?</p>
May 27, 2018 at 6:13 pm #51900I’m just the king of wishful thinking lightbodyae55, no inside info here i’m afraid.

I copy and paste text from forum
Some important interviews on television today and whilst not Motability related the ramifications of policy decisions will, inevitably, affect the scheme going forward, perhaps in a minor way, perhaps more widespread if WTO rules apply. As the EU exit talks progress, or perhaps do not progress we shall see the effect on various aspects of fiscal life. It is very unlikely to have any effect this year and probable just a moderate effect going forward. I say this as the EU has now major problems with new government in Italy and I feel shall be slightly more desirous of accommodating the UK government as loss of revenue from UK could be a disastrous scenario going forward. A 10% tariff on cars is a possibility but this would make UK produced cars, in some instances, financially more attractive. Changes to currency exchange rates is likely to be a more concerning issue as evidenced over the past two years where an increase in RRP have translated to modest, but noticeable increases in Advance Payments. In conclusion, the effect, I feel, at present is negligible going forward and, at worst, will be modest. I trust this may help alleviate some concerns and provide a degree of clarification.
May 28, 2018 at 10:23 am #51910It was the music i grew up with lightbodyae55, and the video to that song must be one of the best of its time.

“going forward” four times in one short piece that has nothing to say.
May 28, 2018 at 12:26 pm #51915Lightbody I believe the confusion could be that This is which mobility car Forum and we have an off topic forum the open arms. However if you click on Which Mobility Car Homepage at the top of the page it will take you to very informative home page that people are able to comment under the various topics, as a result of comments being hard to follow this Forum was formed. HI JS
Thanks for the info, I thought this was the main Forum, seems I missed the other one.

May 28, 2018 at 5:49 pm #51926Two Forums are better than one! This one appears to be car related, Motability in particular, the other one is of a more general basis. Both are well worth a browse.

I prefer “In The Navy”.

I’m with Wigwam on this. The quotes tell us nothing but one persons ramblings.
The poster in question has a habit of posting info as if it is fact and then, when challenged or corrected, either deletes their post or alters it.
As others have said, the only relevant info on Q3 is definite news of which cars are on, which are off and notable AP changes.

Very general stuff. I do agree the outcome of Brexit will be a factor, it will be a factor in everything financially related.
May 29, 2018 at 12:21 pm #51942finsoop
The “poster in question” does appear having fine track record in predictions I am seeing from looking backwards including on car streamlined. Recent posts are very general but could paint picture of future development Motability prices and availability. I waiting breath bated for unveiled summer price list.
May 29, 2018 at 12:30 pm #51944Glos Guy
But you can only see the posts that they retrospectively corrected, once accurate information became available, and not those that were deleted when proven to be nonsense. If you predict dozens of things, some of them will become true!
May 29, 2018 at 1:43 pm #51951finsoop
Posts now copied and pasted here I see so full original version is now here so possible judge if forecasts and predicted remarks are to come true or not. This crucial as we might look back. Personal for me is hope for sportier types of car but I not sure it will be happening but I hoping so.

The poster essentially states 3 things;
1) ‘There are unlikely to be any changes in Motability rules in Q3’- Well I don’t think any of us would disagree? The new rules only came into play in January so are we expecting changes so soon? I’m certainly not.
2) ‘There will be some price changes and some cars will be affected by things such as new engines and gearboxes’ – well that happens all the time, so Q3 will be no different to any other quarter in that regard.
3) ‘The EU exit will have an impact’ – this is being cited for anything and everything at present and the poster refers to numerous macro economic factors that may or may not have an impact on Motability. Well, guess what? They may or may not have an impact! There are bound to be changes – there always are, but nobody will be able to pin those changes on any one specific factor.
The poster concludes by saying “In conclusion, the effect, I feel, at present is negligible going forward and, at worst, will be modest”.
So, there we are. Some may consider these to be profound words of wisdom. Others may consider it to be stating the obvious. Mystic Meg, however, they are not 😉

Our car is due to be changed at the end of September so the choice will be made from Q3, We, therefore, are as keen as anyone to see the ” new ” APs but no-one really knows what the price changes will be, if any, until it appears, let’s just wait and see eh!
