I find pork chops can be dry, bland and tbh boring, prefer pork joints sliced thinly with anything.
However my Wife now invented a simple sauce and I love it, also can be frozen…

Pork chops, steak etc grilled or shallow fried has to be with proper chips, egg & pea’s. Roast meat on the otherhand has the full Sunday roast treatment!
I might be weird but, after 58yrs you ain’t going to change me 😀
March 5, 2025 at 12:04 pm #298852Fair play Kezo, do you still peel, chip and fry your chips, must say defo the best way, however when you can’t be bothered going shopping, and it’s can you wrestle something up for that pork love, when that arrived I was more than greatful, weird or not couldn’t careless, it’s nice 😆

No! mrs kezo peels & chips them 🤣
Can’t stand oven chips and chippy chips aren’t as good, as they use to be and rather do without imo.
March 5, 2025 at 1:40 pm #298861Is pork chop an underrated meat, I’ve always thought so, Family enjoying it, I always need something gooey with it..
If anyone has a quick easy sauce I’d much appreciate a few ideas..
March 5, 2025 at 1:44 pm #298862When I was a kid Kezo my parents would do the deep fat frying method, still remember the peeled, chipped potatoes in a bowl of water, never understood why, just rinse them I guess..
Lovely 👍
March 5, 2025 at 1:57 pm #298865Soak in cold water to remove surface starch of peeleed or chipped potato or it will stop the evaporation from of moisture, leading soggy chips. Hot water will activate the starch, hence the reason you use cold water 😉
March 5, 2025 at 2:17 pm #298866Looking for easy sauce ideas, saw this, wow now that’s easy bread stuff, got to try it bet it’s awful…
March 5, 2025 at 3:45 pm #298879Like the look of the honey etc. sauce. Will try it.
If I’m doing pork chops I’ll often make a simple sort of mega-gravy which comes out like a sauce:
Fry chops. Season to within an inch of their lives AND sprinkle a beef Oxo or two over them during cooking.
When cooked remove from pan and keep warm. Put a good big splash of boiling water (or water and wine) into pan and turn the heat up to max – 11 if you’ve got it.
Continue, stirring a lot until it thickens up nicely. Finish off with a dollop of double cream.
That’s simple, base version. Can be tarted up by adding anything that takes yer fancy after removing chops: mustard, fresh herbs or even balsamic vinegar. Can also be the base for a mushroom sauce (slice ’em finely and fry before mixing into sauce).

March 5, 2025 at 4:30 pm #298888Carrots with chips, not in my house! I do like chips with tinned tomatoes, I occasionally have a breakfast tea which consists of chips, tomatoes, sausage, bacon and a couple of egg whites. I add black pepper and a good dash of Worcestershire sauce whilst cooking the toms.
March 5, 2025 at 4:35 pm #298891Jojoe we often have a full cooked breakfast at the wrong time of day, like 3.30 pm 😳..
I love peppery/sea salt toms tinned or not with chips too.
March 5, 2025 at 4:45 pm #298894@ajn, try a good dash of Worcestershire sauce or just a squirt of brown sauce in the tinned toms, it really adds to the flavour.
March 5, 2025 at 4:50 pm #298895Jojoe I’ve had the brown sauce but never tried the Worcestershire, but rest assured it’s going on the shopping list..👍
March 5, 2025 at 4:52 pm #298896Can’t remember where I was possible holiday, I had pork pinneaple type curry it was very nice..

April 6, 2025 at 5:07 pm #304028I’ve never seen ribeye pork either, Mrs aj has, must say they look great, enjoy..
