        Load of rubbish….

Do they really want dirty diesels just for ferrying around between offices or doing routine visits, these aren’t bought for high speed chases but to cut down on using fossil fuel for the more mundane offences. Think of the money saved and the improvement in their carbon footprint.

They should be writing about how much money they are saving the taxpayers instead of this rubbish spewed up by somebody with an interest in selling more fossil fuel

Well if you need to go to an urgent call, yet the car hasn’t been charged, off course it’s not going to work.

The owner of the Metro is a non domicile so if the Metro is so interested in tax payers money maybe they should look closer to home.

I agree it’s poor journalism as surely thats the point of having them, for cleaner transportation when its not an emergency. The article makes it sound like the police fleet is totally useless, but in the past how many senior grade big petrol cars where used in car  chases? Not many I’d guess.

I guess, it was a karma strike for those cases when police abused people. I heard there are organizations like AAAPPP made especially for such cases.

                    Fake news day.

Tell the policeman who came to my door yesterday (witness citation, in case you think I’ve been arrested again!) that the i3 is too slow…he turned up in a very grotty old Astra. Or the others tootling about the town in their large vehicles of choice, an Outlander or a Transit.

Sure, on the main road/bypass they have BMW 5 series, A4’s and the like (BMW’s in livery, A4’s almost always plain…), but lots of policing is doing day to day stuff, hardly need a big engine fire breather for that.

It’s just sensationalist rubbish a la Daily Mail.

£1.5m buys roughly 42 i3s at retail. With fleet discount and VAT recovery let’s call it’s 60.  A drop in the ocean compared to overall police fleet and in any case, they are still far better than the battered old Astras 1.7Ds that our local plod drives around in.

Whaaat? I did t know that! Sign me up in that case. I rarely drive over 40mph due to the manic local speed limits.
An i3 will make me king of the traffic light Grand Prix ? ?

? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

BionicRusty it’s the cars best feature! Really quick in the places and speeds that most of us drive. Traffic lights are soooooo much fun
