The plug-in car grant has survived the budget, albeit reducing to £3k from midnight tonight, and capped to vehicles £50k and under.

      It could have been worse.

Agree, it could have gone completely. I’m due to order next month (barring the usual incredibly unlikely events such as revolution, asteroid strike & pandemic… er.. damn), so I’m hoping that I won’t have to find too much extra if I go down the electric car route as planned & saved for.

The cap of £50k is also an interesting figure as it helps concentrate the grants on the low to mid ranged price EVs, so a Model 3 with a few extras would come in under the cap still.

Ridiculous government, cutting that grant & spending a pathetuc £1bn on Green stuff with £27bn on new roads. They just dont care about the climare crisis at all, not like we’ve just had horrendous flooding (again) or anything.

High time our gov actually did something creative & benefucial instead of busuness as usual 20th century thinking, bah!

Like the intent to ban sale of petrol and diesel cars in 12 years?

I was just thinking the same thing, that was not a Budget where even the smallest piece of bad news was allowed.
