are pip assessments the end of motability.this forum is mostly about cars and car related topics but i just feel what is happening to me after 30 years of being a motability customer make feel theses pip assessments make it very difficult being on the scheme.i was waiting for my pip result right on top of when i was supposed to order a car, but was told till the result came through i could only extend for 6 monthes.i got my result which put me 1 point away from enhanced rate of the care but i was awarded enhanced motability.as a spina bifida wheelchair user i new i would be awarded mobility.and here is where the problem started, i wanted to appeal and mobility would not let me order a car even though i was awarded mobility.they could only offer 4 weekly lease extension plus proof of my appeal on a regular basis.as i have a 4 year old child with needs that i always need a car. i was not happy with no certainty of having a car.so i got back in touch with mobility and basically told them I’m going to have to come off the scheme and get my own car, they then changed there mind and let me able to order a car or extension,i took the extension.but in 4 years and in that the time it takes to appeal it seems trying to stay on motability seems to one big headache.is anyone else come across anything similar.

sorry to hear this, I’m in a similar position, but my Gp has arranged that my wife and I get free transport to and from appointments. In a private car or sometimes an ambulance service car.

 

Definitely look into this is saved me so much hassle and money on cabs over the years.

 

Tomorrow I get picked up at 5am and taken to Stanmore my third spinal surgery this year.

 

My my wife is disabled so can’t and doesn’t drive and my kids are all working.

 

Good luck with the pip and the appeal. ??
