      Hi,

My wife has ordered the Peugeot e-2008 Allure at the weekend and i noticed on the Peugeot AP Price List there is the following note under the prices:

Customer Offer: NAV available on Allure at no additional Advance Payment

When i mentioned this to the dealer he did not know anything about it, but just said ok.

He has just phoned us to say the this is only available if it showed Nav next to the car.

The note is also shown on the petrol & diesel versions.

I am a little confused and wondered if anyone else has tried to order this free upgrade?

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Thanks.

I haven’t ordered one myself, but I’ve just visited the Peugeot Motability website and it reads quite clearly to me.

Navigation is being offered as a no cost extra on the AP on all 2008 Allure models.

Don’t let the dealer fob you off. Challenge him and tell him that you want navigation added to your wife’s order as per the Peugeot website.

If necessary, cancel the order and go to another Peugeot dealer who will honour the deal.

i agree, although i have NAV on my 65 xc60  i thought i would use it all the time but its horrible to try n set up , used it once, i just use google maps on my phone, you get lots of things with a car you think you use but you don’t. Air Con Iv had it on my last 3 cars and don’t use it cause it uses fuel apparently .

Martino I have no problem with the xc60 satnav but only use when I don’t know where I’m going lol.

Only used the aircon a dozen or so times on really hot days.

Thank you for your replies, much appreciated.

72 dudes, I would go to another dealer, but this one if offering £800 off that AP.  It is the same dealership that is offering the e-208 for free, Days in Swansea.  I am not being greedy wanting the free upgrade, i could go for the Allure Premium, which has the Sat Nav for another £200 AP, it just annoys me when something is offered and then it is not given to you, despite being in black and white.

martino, it is not so much the Sat Nav, as it does come with Apple Car Play / Android Auto and i have always found Waze much better.  I was after the 10” screen instead of the 7 1/2” screen and as stated above the fact that the upgrade is advertised.

I have contacted Motability and they suggested contacting Peugeot, so i contacted Peugeot Customer Care Line and they suggested contacting Motability.  You wouldn’t think it was so difficult!

I am now on a mission and i am going to get to the bottom of this!

The Volvo XC40 was our 2nd choice, lovely car.  We do not do many miles, our Mini Countyman, again a lovely car, only has 25,000 miles, so electric should be a good choice for us, fingers crossed.

I think the dealer could not add the NAV to my order, as in the brochure it does show that the NAV is not an upgrade option on the Allure, if that is the case, why offer the upgrade.

              It is so frustrating!!

If anyone else has been able to claim this offer, i would love to hear from you?

              Thanks

I am sure there was a study done and having your windows open is the same as having your A/C on, due to drag.  You also need to run the A/C ever so often.

                  @AndyT

I have the DS3 Crossback electric, a spec which comes with the nav.  I don’t know if the Peugeot is the same, being part of the PSA group, but there are some other advantages of the nav, if this is the case.  I’ve just got Connected Nav working on mine, 3 years free from sale.  This provides real-time traffic info, speed cameras, weather, car park info, EV charging points and other choices via linked TomTom options within the nav package.

If the Peogeot offers the same connected nav options it would be a shame for you to miss out on them.

                    Hi Peter,

I just checked and yes it does come with free 3 years connection to Tom Tom with the extras you noted.  The car was ordered this morning, if i do find out that i can have the upgrade, do you know if the order can be revised?

                    Thanks.

                    Peter

I don’t see any reason why the order couldn’t be revised, if it’s a factory order and the dealer can/will do it.  TBH, in your shoes I would consider upgrading the model if you can’t get it on your original choice.  You mention that you would prefer the larger screen anyway so the £200 you mentioned for that, plus all of the connected nav benefits doesn’t sound too bad.  It works out around £1.28 a week over a 3 year lease.

They do the allure premuim which comes with navigation and bigger screen.

When is the vehicle due in ??

Did u get the £800 discount off the AP, as theh are giving this huge discount until further notice and it will be stopped as soon as they hit target.

The car was ordered today and we are looking at October for delivery.  Yes, we did receive the £800 off the AP, which is great.

I sent an e mail to Motability regarding the Sat Nav and received the following reply:

Thank you for your email earlier today, regarding the Peugeot e-2008 Allure that you have recently ordered and the optional extras you were expecting to be included with it. I am sorry to hear that the information provided in the Peugeot brochure is different to that provided by the Motability Specialist at Days Peugeot Plasmarl and that Peugeot Customer Care were unable to assist you.

As a valued Customer, we take your concerns seriously and I hope to reassure that they have been logged under your Motability agreement for the reference of both ourselves and Days Peugeot Plasmarl.

The Peugeot e-2008 Allure with NAV is not available to order through the Motability Scheme as standard. This is because such a vehicle would alter the specification of the Peugeot 2008s that we have been able to introduce to the Scheme. If a Sat Nav is something that you would like to have fitted to your chosen car, then you may like to consider the possibility of having it fitted as an optional extra. Optional extras do not form part of your Motability agreement and are a separate agreement between yourself and your dealer. They are also added at your own discretion and the costs of which are covered at your own expense. Should you wish to discuss this further please call the Motability Specialist at Days Peugeot Plasmarl on 01792 616 000.

I hope my email finds you well today and although I appreciate that this will not be the answer you were hoping for, I trust it has offered you clarity on the options that are available to you at this time. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family well during this difficult and uncertain time.

Should you require any further assistance please call our Customer Services Department on 0300 456 4566 where one of my colleagues will be more than happy to help you. Alternatively, you are welcome to respond directly to my email.

I have replied to Motability with the following:

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

I understand what you are saying, but please could you explain why it is advertised as a free upgrade in the Peugeot Motability price list, if it is not a free upgrade?

The note is on page 13 on  https://media.ndp.awsmpsa.com/file/86/9/motability-customer-price-guide.114869.pdf

Copied from the Peugeot Motabilty Price List (as per above link):
‘ Customer Offer: NAV available on Allure at no additional Advance Payment’

Please have a look at the above link, to see what i am referring to.

This is not the normal retail price list, but is aimed at Motability customers.  So i do not understand why it is saying that Motability customers can have a free upgrade if they order the e-2008 Allure.  If this is not true, then how do you get the free upgrade?

I could order the e-2008 Allure Premium which does have the Sat Nav as part of the spec, but this will be another £200 AP.

The only difference between the Allure & Allure Premium is the Sat Nav.

Will wait to see their reply.

Andy t.   You can upgrade to the allure premuim which will give you the bigger screen and sat navigation…..or you could just plug it into your mobile phone and use free sat navigation from your phone onto the 7 inch display as it has apple and android phone connectivity.

I test drove the e208 yesterday at days…and it was a fantastic electric car.  Very nice luxurious feel inside the cabin and the electric motor is so powerful, It was my first electric car test drive and think I’m going to sign up for the e2008 like you as its more spacious and practical for a family car.

I have just spoken to the dealer and it appears that it was Motability who stopped the upgrade.  Surely they would be grateful for the free upgrade as it would enhance the sell on value?

Waiting to hear from them with regards to me reply to them.

I would like to thank you for your time in bringing this to our attention. Upon you sending us this information, we have raised your concerns to the Account Manager here at Motability Operations for Peugeot.

Tbh, if I had the free upgrade option in writing, I’d print it off, take it to the dealer (provided it was a Peugeot generic offer and not an alternative dealer) and say either honour it right now or cancel the order!

One thing about the e-2008 that you’re sure to love is the Peugeot “MyPeugeot” app for it, yesterday morning my e-2008 became a fossil fueled version but by afternoon it was back to being the electric version. Peugeot are “working” on the app & it’s not stable yet, but I usually find it useful to check the state of charge in %, so at the moment I have 82% which is a good level whilst it sits outside (best not to store with the battery at or near 100% or extremely low, top up to 100% just before you leave on a journey if you need to).

Now if you were interested in the Zoe you’d have another french car app that is supposed to be just as bad. Perhaps it’s the language barrier.

Fortunately you don’t need the app to enjoy the car, its really for checking the state of charge whilst you’re in a cafe & the car is charging.

I started using the “MY Peugeot App” when I 1st got my car and for a month it was great, no need to go out to the car as I could look on my phone and check the fuel level/distance remaining etc, until one day I did a 2 mile journey and it went bonkers, said I had used 23 gallons of fuel (in litres) for the 2 miles and subsequently changed my average mpg from 48.9mpg to 0.2mpg and on nearly a full tank I had a range of 0.1 mile. ??

                                          Stopped using it now.

I would like to thank you for all of your patience and understanding whilst we’ve been awaiting further details from our Peugeot account manager. I can confirm that my colleague, Phillip, has now received a response from Peugeot directly and has provided further advice for this.

Peugeot have explained that the free Nav upgrade on the Allure, featured on the Peugeot website, is an error on their part. In order to have Nav, customers would have to pay the additional £200 for the Allure Premium. Peugeot have also explained that following this mistake that had been published, they are updating their website accordingly.

I do apologise for the conflicting information that had previously been published about this and I can certainly appreciate the frustration that this may cause. As my colleague, Victoria, had explained, this has been logged onto your agreement so that we are aware of your experience and it has now been fed through to Peugeot directly by our dedicated account manager.

Looks like another example for the 2008 Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulation.
And the point is that you’d think that any company, let alone one the size of Peugeot, would get their information correct before releasing it.
I had a similar case with BMW where an option I ordered did not have the functionality advertised. When I presented the evidence (take screenshots of everything or save video) I was refunded my cash.
It was a shallow victory though as I wanted the functionality!

? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
