Overheating

So, car overheated today, so lost power while it cooled down, then it came back until overheated again

RAC came out and couldn’t replicate the fault so I need to get it into the dealer for investigation.

Question – are we entitled to a car in the mean time, and who would provide it, as the dealer has never once asked us if we needed a car before.

      TIA

Did you ask the dealer for a temporary car? If they can’t provide one phone Motability they will arrange.

I can’t ask the dealer yet, as its Sunday, but tbh if they are anything to go by, they won’t look at with any urgency.

I’ll speak to motability tomorrow I guess

              Ford Galaxy.

Took it out for a quick spin after RAC, and it seems to occur when driving, but wont just by revving to raise temp.

Rac can organise a courtesy car for you, wen our car broke down the RAC man asked if we needed a car and he organised it for us.

All the RAC bloke offered was to arrange a flatbed to get the car to the dealer.

When our last car, a Grand Picasso, broke the drive belt we had it taken to the dealer by RAC flatbed. The dealer could not give us a courtesy car on such short notice (always had one for servicing) so we rang Motability & a  car was delivered the next morning about 8.30am. We did have to haggle a wee bit with Motability to ensure we got a car with a large boot as they were going to give us a Corsa, which would have been no use with the huge guide dog we had, so we ended up in a Qashqai for 3 days.

RAC never said anything about arranging cars for us. Just the flatbed.

Hire car gets delivered this afternoon, vauxhall crossland apparently, as we said we didnt need it to be as big as the Galaxy this time as long as the wheelchair would fit.

Dealer can only fit the car in on the 8th, so we will likely have for a couple of weeks.

That’s funny, its exactly what I said about the Qashqai!

Little bit of an update, so after 2 days u got the hire car changed to a sportage with needing a level boot floor/loading lip for the wheelchair.

Still driving it over 6 weeks later and the garage still can’t seem to fix the bloody fault.

Motability have confirmed that we can still collect our new car if its still not fixed, that sounds ridiculous considering the xc40 isn’t due until sep 14-28 but honestly Evans Halshaw Darlington are truly woeful.
