Ohme excellent service

So, Saturday 14th October, I placed my order for a Skoda Enyaq 80x Sportline with Maxx pack  sunroof and travel pack.

Got an email last Tuesday with the link from Ohme to fill in the survey online, which I did, with a drawing, photos and a short video, all very simple. I ordered an epod with 8 metre untethered cable and sent the online survey back on Wednesday last.

On Thursday, I received a phone call from their appointed contractors, McNally Electrical yorkshire Ltd to book the fitting of the charger this Monday.

The rwo arrived and by 1 and 1/2 hours later, the charger was fitted where I wanted it, so just under a week from start to finish. They helped set up the app and explained how the charger works.

Today, the 8 meter charging cable arrived direct from Ohme in a neat blue bag and a copy of my electrical certificate was sent by email.

Overall, a great experience and very quick.

Totally agree, excellent service from OHME and installation completed by ProEV.   A total of 22 days from order to installation. ?

Many thanks that’s a lovely tidy job but I’d prefer the tethered as would always charge at home never use public chargers

There are benifits of untethered. If your charger was fitted in the meter shed, you could leave it plugged in anywa.

A lot of dem installations and problems are down to the Subbies. If tou get a local sub.contractor you be ok. But some of the larger subbies just cant handle the work thrown at dem.

Theres a lot of variation in these works an onesizee fits all doesnt work very well. A lot need bringing up to code before they can fit the charger . Lots of regs to work to

That was not my experience when having the compulsory although prefered  Easee charger swapped to a Ohme Pod

The Subbie completed the simpler job in 40 mins and went to slide off without informing me how to access/use the thing

I called him back and asked him, reply was  dont know how its set up

                            I doubt that tbh

I manged to get him to reveal that the code to be scanned was on the Pods underside, being unable to bend down enough to see it I handed him my phone and asked him to scan the code into the App that I knew would be needed.

And without further explanation off he shot

New intall as opposed to a swap over may well be a different experience

Or a bit like your favourite restaurant where you hope the same chef as last time is on shift today

All can be a bit hit and miss imo when subcontractors are in the mix

I of course knew how to set things up but he didnt know that

Had an entirely different experience with McNally. They were only a couple of miles away, installation booked and details confirmed only to receive an email from ProEV informing me of another installation date by them!

McNally would have not contacted me and, presumably, just not turned up if I hadn’t rung them!!!

So, even within the same installers, the quality of experience differs greatly.

ProEV are an outsourcing company, who outsource work to contractors on ProEV’s database. Your local installer McNally is obviously on ProEV’s list but, had their own work that day or month where they could earn more money, possibly for doing the same work privately!

Think of ProEV as an agency where contractors fallback on when a contractors work is slow or dried up but, when the contractor has thir own work…..
