Kwik-fit on Motability do not provide roadside assistance. You need to ring the RAC Motability number if you have a puncture on the road.
The RAC carry a spare and will follow you to a Kwik-fit branch or will riase and tow your car there.
Kwik-fit do provide a ‘home fitting service’ for Motability customer’s tyres but this has to be booked a few days in advance.

PhiljbIs there no can of gunk and a compressor like other cars without a spare.
The only problem with not having a spare in the car is if you get a puncture in a remote location at night you face a pretty long wait to be relayed and then provided with a loan vehicle etc.
With a spare RAC could fit it and you could take the punctured wheel to quick fit when it suits you.
poor service and penny pinching by Citroen in my opinion.September 3, 2020 at 11:24 pm #123171Do any cars come with a spare wheel anymore? I understand it’s all about weight saving and chasing lower fuel consumption but of course it saves costs too.

john haslammost cars have pump and canister instead of spare but if a spare is fitted as standard on the model you have it should have one mobility or not
September 4, 2020 at 9:17 am #123193I would check the specs of your individual car as it has been known for dealers to remove the spares from Motability customers cars.
September 4, 2020 at 9:37 am #123196As john haslam says there should either be a spare or a pump inflation kit. If there is neither then it does suggest the dealer has removed it.
As an aside, if an inflator is supplied with the car, you can use it for routine tyre pumping up if you want to.

Katie bI’m not a motability customer but I do buy citreon cars. You have to upgrade to have a spare so it’s an addition cost to add to your finance. My last car had one because I asked for it. This time I forgot and fell fowl of it.
I’m told by he many car nuts in my family, that brand new cars don’t often have spares these days, just the puncture repair kit. Although the luxury or more expensive brands may be different. My budget doesn’t stretch to those though. I agree it’s annoying though
January 21, 2023 at 4:03 pm #206932I brought a full size second hand spare wheel and a new budget tyre. I brought some ratchet straps from Screwfix and a cover from eBay, total cost less than a £100. It sit neat and securely behind the passengers eat all strapped in.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

RogerWilkoMy Skoda Superb estate was to come with the gunk bottle, but I paid for a spare wheel (50mPH space saver) instead.
needed it when I hit a large pothole that the damage to the tyre the gunk wouldn’t be any use.

RussI have a spare in my car but the RAC lad couldn’t get it out as my hoist was in the way.
January 21, 2023 at 6:17 pm #206944We’ve got a spare in our Skoda, it was a fleet car order that got cancelled during first Covid lock down, fleet buyers spec a spare to save time if they get a puncture. We were lucky to get the cancelled order, the wait time would’ve turned into a year! I do prefer a real spare.

January 21, 2023 at 6:54 pm #206952I think a good old fashioned spare is an optional extra these day’s, can’t remember the last time I had one in a scheme or private car.
To be told it’s because were covered by KF I reckon is nonsense.
January 21, 2023 at 8:26 pm #206959I have a 2021 Peugeot 208 GT and there’s a space saver wheel in the boot!

DragonflyI still cannot find the starting handle for my Qashqai ??
January 22, 2023 at 5:52 pm #207042You can buy a spare wheel with a jack. Enter your make and model. They’re around £140. Or search eBay, plenty of car breakers list wheels on there.

PaulMy 2022 focus active x estate has a space saver in the boot which I much prefer to a tyre kit, didn’t have to pay extra for it either but not sure if that’s still the case ?
