I noticed that they’re bringing out a new 6.1 VW. I’m due to change over my car by the end of Jan (I’ve got a XC60 atm – I got it just before it left the scheme).

I’d really like to hold off and get the new model Transporter shuttle as the dash and tech seem a lot more up to date. Has anyone heard anything?

VW always re tool and change models in the summer shutdown, the two weeks when they clean everything and people go on holiday. The information on the 6.1 will start to come through soon, there is a press embargo on so that they continue to sell the T6.

The digital dash is nice – but, knowing VW vans there is every chance it will be a costly option, the current shuttle in SE trim does not have alloy wheels for example.

There was a ‘sign up for more info’ form on the VW website, with boxed to tick – from Caravelle, California, Combi to Transporter.

Yes, all models get the upgrade to 6.1, the new bigger grille and the new engines. The shuttle on the Scheme (manual) has the 102 version which is being dropped, replaced by a 110 version. The auto will continue with the excellent 150.

It just would not be very VW vans to put a digital dash and a large touchscreen across the range. They love an expensive extra.

Going by costs of options on other vehicles from VW you might be looking somewhere in the range of £1,200+ to spec it up in the way you’re wanting.

Hmmm, it’s more the allowing the more modern features in general – the ‘carplay’ etc. I appreciate I’m not going to have the features that I have on my XC60.
The VW salesman says he doesn’t know when they’re coming out .. ?
