Speedy JamesInterested on thoughts and ideas for the next quarter. I’ll kick off with an optimistic one:
Kia Niro fully electric

Would like electric cars to have a better range, going to our sons in London (270 miles one way) means a few stops to charge, which would take ages to get there, it’s around a five to six hour journey with our car at the moment.

GeorgieThat would be very welcome but I’m not holding my breath. Still too popular.
Audi A4. Again. Saw one in the Audi forecourt yesterday – first time I’ve noticed one – and it’s a nice looking beast.
March 4, 2020 at 12:32 pm #108427Kona Electric 39KWh, which is the lower powered & smaller battery version.
Pity as I’d go for either the 64KWh Kona Electric or the E-Niro in an instant.
However, in April 2017 when I last changed car all the electric cars mysteriously disappeared from the scheme to prevent me from getting one, & I had to choose a diesel. No doubt the same will happen this time too as Motability seems to want to be stuck will lots of fossil engined cars in 3 years time when they no longer have any value.

Shed1965Hi I understand what your saying about electric but what difference does it make to us what the vehicle is worth in three years at the end of the lease that’s one of the best things about the scheme not having to worry about depreciation
March 4, 2020 at 2:16 pm #108446
Speedy JamesI think the point is the lower the depreciation and therefore the resale the lower the AP might be. Or that’s the theory.
For my situation I really need a real world range of 200 miles in a fairly large vehicle with electric memory seats. Hopefully not unrealistic soon.
March 4, 2020 at 2:56 pm #108451
Shed1965I don’t think you are being unrealistic I just don’t just think it’s any time soon, maybe next few years.with prices of new vehicles generally increasing as consumers want more safety, and tech I think that the high APs are here to stay .i was just saying that depreciation is one thing that we don’t have to think about. And when some in the private sector if you choose the wrong car then you could pay £25 £30 thousand and in three years time be told it’s worth £6 thousand ,we are not doing so bad not perfect but not bad

StavMaybe the Vauxhall Grandland X hybrid will be added, seems the 2wd is 225 bhp, where as the 4wd is 300 bhp. Also the Citroen C5 Aircross Hybrid is available to buy now , so may be added at some point.
March 5, 2020 at 11:47 am #108544Next quarter cars I would like to see on the scheme but won’t be are –
BMW 220 Grand Coupe
BMW 3 series
BMW X2 Msport
Mercedes CLA 220d AMG Line
Audi A4 Black Edition 40 TDI or TSI
VW Allspace SEL DSG
Mini Cooper S Convertible
March 5, 2020 at 12:06 pm #108547
LandymanTotally agree elliot about the 3 Series especially the touring, it was a very close call 2 years ago between the X1 and the touring, but the Xdrive on the X1 just edged it for me.
March 5, 2020 at 2:59 pm #108561
Clipped wings+1 Elliot for the Allspace SEL dsg. Will get my renewal letter end of March and could tempt me away from another Touran.
both have long delivery times.
The US is Allspace only which I guess is the reason for the switch to Mexico production. Ironic that the “Spanish” Tarraco version is built in Wolfsburg alongside side the regular Tiguan and TouranMarch 5, 2020 at 3:32 pm #108565Hope we see a big reduction in AP for qashqai or focus as I would like to get one of them
would’ve got the r line tech but will be 6 months short of my 25 birthday ??
March 5, 2020 at 3:49 pm #108568
PhiljbI’d like to see a bigger choice in specs on the cars we have.
plus a guaranteed min time cars have to stay on the scheme before being dropped.March 5, 2020 at 3:52 pm #108569
GeorgieWaltersoprano – Maybe consider extending your current Lease for a year?
And then hope, as we all seem to have to hope at some point, that the vehicle you need/want is still around when your ready to Order. 🙂

Georgieyour/you’re
March 5, 2020 at 4:06 pm #108571Georgie – have considered that although no doubt it would be due a facelift by that time ?
will take a look at the Ford kuga once reviews are out
March 5, 2020 at 6:54 pm #108589
Speedy JamesI’m hoping for the 3 series touring (petrol hybrid) and also Vauxhall Grandland hybrid and Kia Niro EV.
Any would be lovely!
March 5, 2020 at 7:01 pm #108591Toyota GB/Motability ; if you’re reading this… please can you put the GT86 auto on the scheme!
It’s below the 200 bhp limit (just), and it’s no more expensive than the C-HR!
🙂
March 6, 2020 at 12:35 pm #108653
RhodgieThey don’t do the 39 kWh anymore, only the 64 and if it comes on the scheme it’d do me fine ?

If you type in Ford Escape PHEV into your search engine you will get road tests on the US and Australian version of the Ford Kuga, same car just called Escape.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

ah ok thanks for letting me know
March 6, 2020 at 10:07 pm #108715I know this is way outside of the price cap but I sat in a new Mercedes GLB and what a lovely car that was.
March 7, 2020 at 12:28 am #108716
TheSUVGuyElliot that’s the dream and it’s not that far from the price cap so who knows if motability manage to get a deal you never know, I’m holding it for it
March 7, 2020 at 8:53 am #108728
AnnekaI know this is a old one and wishful thinking but again Audi Q3 S Line ?
March 7, 2020 at 10:16 am #108735
ThargVW Polo GTi. Well within all scheme limits.
March 7, 2020 at 1:22 pm #108742I know this is way outside of the price cap but I sat in a new Mercedes GLB and what a lovely car that was.
I’m absolutely with you on that one Elliot. I’d have one at the drop of a hat.
