Hello I am a long term motability customer My nephew has just been awarded high rate PIP in both areas and my niece looks after him power of attorney etc. he is 30 severely autistic and will never drive.

The family currently has a Peugeot 9 seat minibus but old,and I recommended that they go onto the motability scheme but because of the family size they will still need a 8 seat vehicle.

I have seen the travellers on the website with a down payment of around £5000, this is not a problem but are these vehicles on motability for a specific disability IE wheelchairs etc?

I obviously understand the rules regarding the vehicle must be used for the benefit of the disabled person and this will be as he lives with her, but I was just seeing if anyone could clarify any special condition attached to the large 8 seat vehicles that I am unaware of?

There are 20 vehicle at present that are 8-9 seaters these are available to Anyone eligible to the scheme, it only the WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicles) that have different eligibility. Starting prices are from around £2600 and all can be searched for on the advanced search on the Motability car search.
