      Hi all,

Thought i’d give a review of of my first motability car order / pick up etc

Order was processed back in January, car ordered Tiguan R-line Tech in white with side scan as an option.  I ordered from VW Sinclair Newport, they matched a discount on the AP that was being offered in Oxford (Cardiff wouldn’t).

Have to say Mike the sales guy was very good, this being my first motability car, he took the time to explain the process, how motability works etc.

Car was ready for pick up middle of March, but i had to wait till April to get the AP together, we all know what happened then.

Fast forward to end of June, the day Wales allowed Dealerships to open, Received a call saying i could pick up car on 1st of July.

Hand over was a walk around the car inspecting for any scratches etc (as per some suggestions on here took a video walk round)  Dealer entered PIN gave me keys and that was that.

      AS for the Car itself…………..

All i can say is WOW, its taken a week to learn all the gadgets, buttons etc.  the ride, the seats everything is spot on.  I cant wait to take it for a proper run on the motorway.  The way the AP has gone this quarter i feel very lucky to have had mine for £1850 (Plus extras) as there is no way i could afford the current AP

Those AP’s are something that worries me too so much so that unless they change for the better over the next 12 month I might have to go down the grant’s road.

It’s that or keep my current car another year or two but unfortunate it isn’t the car I wanted but could have been a perfect car had it not been for a couple of niggles.

Hoping for a cheaper and better change over time next year and this time I will refuse the new car if its not exactly as specified by the dealer at the time of order then just maybe I’d get a car I can live with for 5 years.

Have a great time with your new car Chris and I will be keeping in mind that discount from VW Newport as that’s just over the bridge for me and closer than Oxford and not only that have relatives just up the road in Pontymister so two birds with the same stone.?

Nice one, It Good to hear there are good dealers out there as well as the bad experiences.

Chris getting a new car is an excuse to hit the Motorway, a roads B roads. to checkout how it handles and the toys work like lane keep assist work.

I had a golf before and loved the adaptive cruise control, had to have it on my next car. Takes some getting used to but once you know how it works and where it doesn’t work you can abuse it when needed. Especially in stop start traffic if you have the dsg box.

yes, the adaptive cruise control is taking some getting used too, but will be a god send once traffic is back to normal and I’m back getting stuck in traffic

Good to hear, glad you’ve got the car now and not later.

The AP’s are horrendous this quarter I really feel sorry for those who were maybe stretching to afford something based on last quarters and who now can’t stretch any more.

I knew I would be paying a lot so I’ve been saving up for the last three years. It’s worked out that I’m actually paying less for my new car than it would have if I’d gone for another X1 with extras, so I’m happy.

Enjoy your new car and all its buttons.
