Went to go to work last week, tried to start up the car and the alarm started going off and every light on the dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree. Then everything just died.

Called RAC, who answered within 5 mins and had arranged a call out. The guy arrived 15 mins later, diagnosed and fixed the problem (Needed to replace battery) then stayed with me for 10/15 mins to make sure everything was working properly (it was raining and freezing cold)

He also noticed I was a little low on tyre pressure so he put some air in and also gave me a replacement battery for one of my key fobs.

Couldn’t have been and nicer or more professional.

I personally think he went above and beyond, so I have him a nice tip. ( And RAC a glowing review on trust pilot)

We all (myself included) like to complain about poor service, so I think it’s only fair to praise professionalism.

This is the one I think Motability got right when choosing a breakdown service, had a few occasions to use them unfortunately and had great service every time.

Not like our experience, Two winters ago we ripped a tyre out in the dark, the inflator/ gunge wouldnt get near it. Called RAC about 6.30 pm and after a lot of questions they finally worked out where we were. They kept asking for a street name, I could only give road number and the junction to the next road as we were out in the middle of nowhere. we were told that they were very busy but we would be picked up in 40 minutes. 3 Hours later after 26 phone calls we finally got a call from the breakdown driver who took a further hour to get to us. He showed me his log and RAC had called him at 9 20 he hadnt been busy that night and we were well within his collection area. Finally got home at 11:30pm. I complained to RAC who gave me a pack of lies, then complained again through Motability who escalated the complaint after getting the same lies from RAC. In the end we got an apology and £50 which we asked to donate to charity. The driver of the recovery recommended that we should just have got a taxi home and charged it to RAC.
