MPG and Spec

We are in the process of looking for our next car and find the MB car search so frustrating. My wife has MS and we try to use the car search to find cars that meet our criteria including the most economical cars to run. Looking through the models and all their variants it is so difficult to find out what they have included and more often than not the MPG figure shows N/A. I know they cannot list all the specifications but surely manufacturers must know what their MPG figures are.

I think the idea is you find a car you like and potentially meets your needs on Motability. As you say the information is limited on there.

So go to the manufactures web site and locate the car you have identified on motability. Then you can see what the has as standard from there.

That is what I tend to do

While I’ve found the Motability car search a tiny bit helpful in getting the correct AP I have to use other ways and means to get the correct information about cars and by this I mean seat, boot, door, seal heigh measurements etc. and where these are available there often incorrect or out of date and knowing how many litres a boot holds is as useful as a chocolate tea teapot.

Best bet is to look at the cars you think are suitable for you (i.e. getting a short list) then make a trip to a showrooms with tape measure in hand but as far as MPG goes, forget it even though were told the new method is more accurate but I do wonder.
