Morning and a Merry Christmas to all….I wondered if anyone had any advice please. I currently have a manual Mercedes GLA 180 urban (due to change in 2022). Unfortunately, I have had a recent accident involving a circular saw at home, badly cutting my left hand (cutting tendons and ligaments). I am unable to drive my car for 8-weeks now. Is there anything Motability could do to help me as my car is my independence – an automatic car or anything? In honesty in the long term I think my manual car days are over or not possible for a long while. Any advice?

Yeah, can’t knock them in that regard – if you call them and explain your change in circumstances, they’ll accommodate you. You’ll probably immediately get asked if you want to terminate the contract early (incurs a £50 fee though), and you can order a new car the next day.

I don’t think they’ll offer you a courtesy car, you’ll probably need to continue driving your current one until you receive the replacement, so i’d be starting to call dealerships for delivery times and potential stock vehicles just in case.
