The MG HS with a 24.7kWh battery is marketed by them as a PHEV.  It does mean that local journeys can be done on pure electric but longer ones are supported by the petrol engine.  It’d be interesting to see just what mpg is returned from petrol only driving at motorway speeds with a fairly substantial battery to lug around.
