2018 – 32.43%

2019 – 34.14%

Busiest months in 2019 were March (11.74%) and September (10.97%)

Quietest are February (5.21%) and August (6.28%)

It’s odd how that trend follows the general buying pattern of private and commercial buyers wanting the latest year designator.

To me it has never really matter what the year letter says on my number plate as I don’t have to sell the car after 3 years.

Must be Motability customers who want to be first in the street with the latest number plate. ?

likewise chrisk, ive never understood the need. although i confess at one point i did buy a personal plate when i bought a new mg, i got MG04KJM. i miss that car lol.

We have always changed in the new year so  get the new plate for only a few weeks before the next one comes out.
Never bothered us, but this time we have gone with a cherished plate and will have that from now on so doesn’t matter when we pick it up.

Car is due some time in February, I’ve had a 13 a 65 and a 66 plate, going to wait an extra couple of weeks for the 20 plate as I’m fed up of trying to remember the year of the cars.

We’ve only ever has WAV conversions and they have arrived on odd months of the year.

This could be that when people join Motability they leave a private lease that was started at the two points that new style number plates are released or that’s when more stock levels are available.
