Don’t forget that if a posted offer is not located near you, it is always worth printing out any such offer and visiting your local dealership(s) in person and asking if they will match the offer. The worst they can say is ‘No’!

Dealerships are permitted a very small number of ‘free passes’ permitting them to breach the Motability ‘4 day rule’ without financial penalty to the dealership.

The number of these passes is limited to only a few per quarter and are intended to be used in emergency situations or where the 4 day rule is not possible i.e. in the closing days of a quarter where a vehicle must be registered before a certain date.

So, providing the dealership has at least one of these ‘passes’ remaining, a Monday collection is entirely possible.

Even if the dealership has no passes, it can still be done but the dealership will suffer a financial penalty for doing so. Hence it is kept relatively hush-hush and not commonly offered.

With one minor correction: unless one requires adaptation. In this case it is not plausible to get the car even within a week (unless you’re in the luck and the installers have a free slot for you).
