A little lighthearted with all that’s going on in the world.
For me on the Kona Electric it’s the silly music when you turn on the power.

The writing that comes up on the infotainment screen every time I turn the car on saying the same thing, not once, not twice but a million times (I’m not exaggerating too much? ) to “Drive safely and obey traffic rules. Watching this screen while the vehicle is in motion can lead to serious accidents”.
I’m not a child and don’t really need to be told even once. ?

August 11, 2022 at 3:47 pm #193551My car displays a message when you turn the power off reminding you not to forget your phone. Lost count of how many times I’ve forgotten my phone and had to go back for it.
August 11, 2022 at 6:58 pm #193600in autumn due to the collision avoidance not knowing the difference between a big leaf and an errant child i would say

My car displays a message when you turn the power off warning you you’ve turned the power off. But the radio stays on…

Fuel gauge, just put petrol in every time it’s used ?
August 11, 2022 at 11:48 pm #193626The volume of the radio being alot higher than that played via android auto. So the next time you get in the car and start it the radio is so so loud and you have to scramble for the volume down button or slider.
August 12, 2022 at 9:59 am #193850The Mercedes Me app. It’s just a marketing tool to try and sell you all the extra stuff that’s already built into the car but you have to pay to activate it. e.g. Android Auto – activate for just £299! Nah!
If I seem a little strange, that's because I am.

That’s a good one.
For me personally the most pointless feature in our car currently is the self-parking feature. It’s basically a function to show a mate that your car’s better than his because it does automagic stuff, and after that you’ll never use it again.
The fake exhaust noise generated by some cars. Why!
Doesn’t actually sound too bad in the GTE. Still noticeable that it’s not all real, but a 1.4l 4pot isn’t really a tenor when it comes to sound, so it does need some help.

I believe there is one car, which when activating sports mode, emits a throaty sound through the speaker system and that’s it. Absolutely no other differences!
August 13, 2022 at 4:01 pm #194063“Infotainment” and all its useless data, most of which I do not understand and do not wish to understand. Worst bit is the bloody touchscreen. Ah, you say, you can turn it off. No I can’t. Turning it off displays a clock and messages about mobile data privacy, whatever the hell that is.
With mitch, above, on this: gimme knobs, dials and buttons please.
August 13, 2022 at 10:11 pm #194101Kia’s endless bings and bongs – similar to the Hyundai I expect. Also the electric car pedestrian sound, the VESS, totally pointless as no one recognises the weird tinkling sounds as a car. Why not make it an engine noise, you know, because everyone knows what that is.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
August 13, 2022 at 11:16 pm #194103Have to agree with abercol. On my second kia now first was sportage every time u hit the start stop button u used to get the “Intel inside” advert sound great at first , 3 years later not so. Current car is a niro that’s the same bings bongs etc etc just turn up android auto to drown em all out

Hyundai just as bad and I find it rather distracting.
I would also like a collision warning that didn’t go off at every shadow it see’s

Wow, so how often do you drive passed Bruce Welch and Hank Marvin. ?

Every day ?
Wasn’t Bruce once married to Olivia Newton John.
August 15, 2022 at 8:52 am #194216If the touchscreen wasn’t bad enough, there’s also the warning symbols which will flash up on the speedo/tacho dials in front of you. Here’s an example…
There are 33 basic, different symbols. This rises to well over 40 when you consider that some can display in different colours and/or flash at different frequencies. Many are completely baffling:
“Strange Domino Tile ahead”?
“Do not crochet while driving…”?
