BertyJust visited the MG Dealership to check out the MG4 and see if the dimensoins are suitable for me.
According to the Salesperson, MG are dropping the prices for 1st July.
The top spec Trophy is dropped to £999 from 1999.
The SE Model, next one down from the Trophy is going to be NIL AP…so Nothing to pay.
Lets hope the other manufacturers follow suite…

I think that’s a response to the Megane. At £1999, it’s no competition to the £1250 top spec Megane. Given MGs placement as a budget brand, they’re not going to do well if they’re not cheaper. This new pricing does reflect that.
It’s good that the dealership informed you, I’d be livid if I went for one just to find it halved in AP a few weeks later and there’s a fighting chance the dealership knew and said nothing.

BertyThe top spec Megane is currently £2500…That is why I was looking at the MG4. The Megane is a more refined car altogether.
I do prefer the raised seating position on a Crossover rather than a small car though..

Do you realise the Iconic is the top model? It’s £1295 which is much less than the lower spec Techno. The Techno retails from £39950 and the Iconic from £41995.

BertyYes, I reckon Motability have screwed up somewhat……..probably their car search. It will be a different story when you go to order at the dealers.

it’s not even the dealers are baffled, but this could be to sell a load as June yo august are dealers slowest times add to that the cost of living crisis. My dealer told me flat out straight summer is worse period as people are thinking more about holidays than cars.

RichardPicked up my Megan etec iconic yesterday What a excellent car for the money it’s had a new update over the last few days with regard to the camera system allowing multiple angles from the birds eye view so I was told by my dealer.
so from walking in the dealers and taking one out for a test drive to picking my car up just under 4 weeks.. my first few things I have noticed the steering is very precise and have been very presently surprised with the suspension having 20inch wheels I was expecting it to be a bit clunky over the pot holes in our third world roads but no it is pleasantly forgiving and my only downwind thus far is the remote for doors is akin to a remote control from a 1999 £25 alba child’s stereo how on earth they can be £320 per unit for replacement god only knows..
June 22, 2023 at 3:31 pm #224103MG has confirmed, the MG4 is introducing an extended range model in 2023, which will use a 77kW and a 329 mile range. MG has also confirmed a 400bhp version which has already been mentioned.
Both the MG and Reno are too small for our needs!
June 22, 2023 at 3:55 pm #224108It’s interesting that the current Long Range version gets a WLTP of 280 and the new, improved version gains 49 miles for an additional 15kWh storage. That’s a rather poor 3.26 miles per kWh, whjich makes little sense as the smaller long range achieves a WLTP 4.54 miles per kWh and the new one 4.27miles per kWh, which seems about right for the extra weight.
However, we all know the WLTP is fiction.
