Brilliant thread idea, Brydo. As a former sub-editor and, thus, obsessive checker of facts, I’ve picked up a few trivia items over the years. Happy to share/

In countless UK TV adventure dramas, out hero can be called upon to sign the Official Secrets Act before being allowed to do/hear/see something secret. Absolutely no need to do this. Every citizen of the UK is automatically covered by the act according to the Defence of the Realm Act (1918-ish). Getting you to sign it is just to show you who’s in charge.
