DBtruthI like what they’ve done with the “Leon” badge at the back. Much better than big capital letters in my opinion.
Im disappointed that they’ve done away with a proper gear selector in the auto (is that the correct term?). I’d much rather have a proper gear stick than a little button.
January 29, 2020 at 4:29 pm #104518Delta I will need to take notes on your presentation as I posted this link a couple of days ago and got zero replies lol.
The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.
Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.January 29, 2020 at 8:25 pm #104535Brydo, I don’t think it’s your presentation it’s just when you make 15 posts at midnight, not many are on to see them and when they look in the morning there are too many to choose from.
I personally look at most of the stuff you chuck up but some doesn’t seem to require a reply tbh it’s just good info.
January 29, 2020 at 8:33 pm #104536I’ll take that vinalspin.
15 posts at midnight, I’ve told you a million times not to exaggerate lol.

Moreton5I genuinely prefer the new golf look to the new leon. Hate the new LEON writing at the back too

AnonymousIt seems the higher spec Leons will not be available to Joe public straight away but will arrive a little later in the year.
So it may be sometime later before we see them on the scheme
Time will tell 🙂 Sorry Brydo I didn’t realise you had posted already

AnnekaIs it me or does the car resemble the new focus ?. Think I prefer the new golf.
January 30, 2020 at 7:26 am #104555
MikeI agree young Anneka current Leon is a lot better imho
January 30, 2020 at 7:33 am #104557You’re not alone Anneka. I think the new Leon looks very drab to be honest. The so-called “sporty” FR version shown looks anything but sporty! SEAT designers could (and should) have done a much better job design wise. I guess the brief from VW HQ was not to make it more appealing than the new Golf… which it certainly isn’t!
I know cars are all about opinions and that we all differ in our choices – but to me – the new Golf is just as boring as this new Leon!
January 30, 2020 at 8:53 am #104562It looks like a trend of making them all lower and wider as in the new focus/golf/leon etc etc as a means of separation from the suv market, not keen on any really.
January 30, 2020 at 9:26 am #104565
MikeYes I agree the focus looks awful and a lot like this such a shame

ThargDelta and Brydo, thanks for this. Does the Leon look better than Golf? Anneka, think I agree with you; looks a bit like the Focus – not a good thing. Bit too twiddly for me, prefer the simpler, smooth art deco-ish (or Bauhaus?) of the Golf. Looks aside, I reckon VAG’s 2.0L with the DSG would be brilliant (have this combination in me Skoda and it really works well). Sadly, suspect that engine/drivetrain won’t make it on to scheme – people might enjoy driving it, perish the thort!
On that note, I reckon Skoda must be well hacked off not being able to put the 2.0L in the Scala. Tried one for size and entry recently and it was most acceptable – felt slightly higher than other VAG stuff. Dead easy to get in and out. Only the underpowered engines stopped me from ordering one.
BTW, Brydo. don’t think it was time of post which hampered your stuff, just unavoidable lack of pictures of new machine.

TimerfirstI’ll look this up at the Motability event in June in Belfast. I’m due to change my 1.6 TDI Leon with dsg gearbox next year. As I have to travel 50 miles in a round trip to my nearest fully functioning hospital, I’ll be sticking to diesel again. It currently pushes 60/70 mpg on these type of journeys
