Here’s a question. Do we as keepers get the log book when we get our Motability car. The reason I ask is my car is coming for renewal and I can’t seem to find a log book. Just wondering whether Motability keep them.

The Log book is held by the vehicle owner, that is Motability. Though you can in certain instance acquire a copy.

We don’t get the log book now, but I’m sure we used to get one years ago, I seem to remember it having a registered keeper (us) and owner (Motability). Or am I imagining this, feel free to correct me. We’ve been on the scheme since we the early nineties.

When the government done away with tax discs on cars some councils wanted to see the Motability cars log book for proof of entitlement of parking concessions they may have had.

I had a copy sent to me for my last but one car and was an exact copy of the V5 sent on PDF form from MB however on my last car they sent what seem to be a DVLA copy that sort of look like something you could obtain on the internet.

Only had my new car a couple of weeks but this is timely reminder to get a copy on my new V5 if only to make sure my address is correct on it as the register keeper.

@JoJo that’s right as I still have one for one of my late brothers.

when I joined the scheme in 2005 they stopped issuing them then.
