Maybe a silly question, but if it’s expired is there any need to tell them about it?

well i tried adding him as a permanent driver on the insurance portal but it declined as you have to enter license number . On the DVLA website it states its expired but it will officially come off the license on 13th august 2025. However when I tried to add him on temporary cover it worked but when I try to go back on the insurance portal, it said I need to call them as I can’t access the account so I did a live chat and they said they have evidence I tried to add someone with their conviction as a permanent driver

            Hi

A LC20 endorsement is applied when you are caught driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. This usually is a result of driving the wrong category of vehicle.

Penalties For Driving Otherwise Than In Accordance With A Licence
If convicted, your LC20 endorsement remains on your driver’s licence for 4 years from the date of the offence. In addition to any other punishment, you will receive 3-6 points on your license.

            Cheers, all the very best

Sounds a mess and not sure what to advise. I guess that all you can do is call them (rather than live chat) and if your fathers conviction was over 4 years ago challenge their decision on the basis that the conviction and points have now lapsed. However, if the 4 years doesn’t expire until August I suspect you will draw a blank. Good luck.
