As James has posted earlier, the Kia Picanto has been completely removed from the scheme. One of the best looking city cars, especially in GT trim.
As I am thinking more and more, these random culls within the quarter make it almost impossible to plan. Perhaps a new name should be Motability Lottery!

? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

Probably reorganising things Picantowise if they have sold all the remaining automatics.

There may also be some of the CO2 fine equation going on here, if they can’t produce enough EVs to offset, then they’ll pull some sales of fossils to compensate rather than pay the fines. This isn’t VW where they will be “let off” fines because of German political pressure on the EU.

          Kia Picanto petrol 1.0 – 117-123g/km CO2.

          Kia Picanto petrol 1.25 – 128-131g/km CO2.

          Kia Picanto GDi 1.0 – 128-129g/km CO2.

Example of CO2 fine for the Kia Picanto petrol 1.0 would be about 2090 Euros per car sold.

Strange but all the Hyundai i10’s are still on (old model) – almost same as picanto especially engines

Having had the experience of driving a Picanto in the past this is now music to my ears

Wow that’s a big fine per car sold.
No wonder they are pulling models.

                      How about an equivalent then….

VW Up 1.0 Petrol – 100g/km CO2 – Fine of 475 Euros….. If you believe the emission figure for the VW Up.

In reality this means that VW would need to produce far fewer EV cars to offset the CO2 tax than Kia.

As for the level at which the EU CO2 tax cuts in at 95g/km CO2, that figure looks very deliberate when you look at a range of EU car engine emissions, they have chosen a figure that best suits the major EU car manufacturers & penalises everyone else, without making much sense from an environmental standpoint as large cities would benefit from zero emissions.

But does any of this affect us now we are free of the EU?

Sorry, we are not. We are in a transitional period, and abide by EU rules, until the end of the year.

So essentially we are still in the EU then.

I was in a Kia dealership the other month and was sitting in a Picanto GT line and was asking the salesman questions …he said the picanto auto is being replaced with a Robotic auto gearbox so no longer a traditional talk converter box, it could  be a transition from old to new style gearbox at the factory and the old style are all sold out hence why no longer on the scheme.

I was making inquiries on my daughters behalf but only looking at a used example, I can see them becoming sort after if the new gearbox is not as good as the old one ?
