After seeing a private dentist for the last 15 years and being fleeced £650 for failed root canal treatment,  I’ve finally found an NHS practice that’s taking on new patients, there’s a six month wait but that’s fine. In fact according to the NHS dentist finder website, a few round here are taking on patients. I think the cost of living crisis has had an effect on dental care with lots of people not even able to afford the NHS prices. If you’ve been searching for a while have another look, you may be pleased.

Kezo, I can’t see them being any worse, NHS root canal treatment is £70.70, I paid £650 privately and it failed resulting in me having to have the tooth extracted. I only went private years ago as I didn’t visit the dentist often enough to keep my NHS place open, it helped that I have a hospital Saturday fund type cash plan (£56 a month for 2 of us) which allowed me to claim £200 of the costs back each year for things like dental optical, physio etc. This mostly covered general things like fillings check ups and even new glasses each year. But then I needed root canal work…
