May 12, 2020 at 10:02 am #113171We should all be sure to buy non clinical masks to save them for those that need them for their essential work.
The ‘face coverings’ that we buy or make for ourselves will have very little effect protecting us from virus. However they may become our passport to going out as long as we also stick strictly to social distancing.

May 13, 2020 at 10:03 am #113211My son bought a load of masks and filters from China when this started, very cheap then of course, he always was a bright lad.
We recently received a package from him in the post, 4 washable masks + 50 pm 2.5 filter inserts, he’s clearly not thinking of his inheritance.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.

GeorgieI’ve just ordered 20 masks and 100 pairs of gloves. We’re not specifically planning on mixing with people, but I suppose it’s better to have something and not need it than need something and not have it. Plus there will have to be a Prescription run and a petrol run sooner or later.

MossfinnI wear a mask when I go out for a stroll with my dogs. I am fortunate to live in a holiday town where the police have roadblocks preventing outsiders visiting so isolating is easy.
The main reason I wear a mask is that it stops me touching my face and possibly passing on germs from something I’ve touched. I don’t remove mask until I’ve washed my hands indoors.
How effective it is, I don’t know but it is an easy thing to do and won’t make the situation worse.
