What insurance were you paying for your first car? What age were you and what car was it? My friend at 22 is quoted on compare the market about 1,100 a year on a 1.6 A1 for a first car

        Hi, Summer!

My first car was a Motability car, so I can’t help you there.  But I bought my first motorcycle (third-hand MZ TS150 in red) in 1983 for the princely sum of £50 plus the cost of a new 125cc cylinder head and gasket, and my Insurance was about £12 for Third Party cover only, because Third Party, Fire and Theft would have cost more than the bike did!

          lol

back in 1980 in germany my first car was a red hillman imp cost the princely sum of dmarks 800  and a couple of yellow handbags for extra alloys ( for the non sqaddies yellow handbags were 10 packs of herforder beer) when it was 4 dm to the £ so £200. the insurance was dm 1800. then fell to 800 after the first year.

for such a small car it was brilliant fun in winter as they get real snow over there lol, the first winter it was 2ft deep.
