…..all our sakes, can we please get away from posts on politics?

We are all entitled to our own views and I come here for information on Motability cars and for automotive based, let’s call it jolliness!

I do not like to read any defensive or inflammatory posts/responses and do not like the thought of people leaving this forum upset or angry. That’s what Twitter is for. ?
We are all under huge pressure at the moment and I’d like to think this would gel us more here given our disabilities.

We all have this as common ground so for all our sanity, let’s offer only support here and advice.

Please take care everyone and please smile. It’s a beautiful day. ♥️♥️

? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

Agreed and apologies if my last post caused further upset but I felt Rox’s post was quite unusual.

I think that you are 100% correct that there should be no place for abuse on these forums. I also think that in general people should be supportive and helpful here. Having said that though, if people do post on matters in the news then they (presumably) want to engage with others on that topic. If I was to say (for example) the VW Touran is the worst car in the world, I would expect some ‘discussion’ on the topic.

I also think that many people using the forum may be in a vulnerable group and this lock down affects both them and their families. When people have not seen their children and grandchildren for months because (as was said to me) ‘we don’t want to be the ones that kill you’ then it is hard to accept that discussion on how the lock down is followed doesn’t have a place here.

However, I certainly accept that support and encouragement are also sorely needed so I’ll try to bear that in mind. I’m always a little surprised when people take ‘discussions’ on issues personally, as when I was growing up my Dad and I would argue politics literally for hours but it didn’t affect our relationship. I think I have to be reminded that for some people it isn’t like that!

I agree, it’s bad enough getting into fights with each other because we/you don’t like the colour of your/my car. LOL

Agree, putting politics behind us is a good way forward. Also, having a go at others for expressing an opinion could do with being stuffed in the bin.

Can the moderators move such posts to the off topic section, then people can rant there as much as they want and not bother anyone?

I would admit that I have been guilty in the past of posting non relevant topics in the main forum, from now on I will keep it purely Motability related and I hope everyone will do the same.

It’s exceptional times and in the absence of Motability being open for business, we have allowed some of topics to continue, offending Threads are either closed or Binned, however a political  Thread even in the Off Topic Forum in the past has proven challenging and can become somewhat personal. The Main Forum or Off Topic Forum are the same in that Posts off a personal nature towards others will not be tolerated, we try to have a happy medium which can be difficult at times, but as a Forum I think we have a  good balance, Our aim and focus will continue for WMC Forum for be a friendly and safe place to be.

We Thank All user for Respecting Forum Rules and Continued Support for Eachother.

                                      Thank You.
