ID.3 ordered

Hi, I have just ordered the ID.3 style 45KW. The AP for a war pensioner is now £126 which in my book is an absolute bargain.

I am not due to extend my lease until October but the dealer has been kind enough to order the car early, all I need to do is take my paperwork in to them in July. I have payed a small deposit, which I would normally not do but as they did me a good deed, it felt right to do so.

The build time is 14 weeks but with possible delays and who knows what’s around the corner, October seems a realistic delivery point.

Good to hear, but what happens if the AP increases on the 1st July?

Also, are you aware of the £660 grant for Automatics for War Pensioners, I checked if this applied to EV’s (as there are no manuals anyway) and it does, so on your proposed car, you’d have no AP anyway,

Thanks Intrancity, I’m hoping the AP stays the same in Q3 as this model with the smaller battery has only just been released, within the last two weeks.

If it all goes south I will look at the grant options, thanks for the heads up.

I’d suggest you ring up the Grants team anyway, it’s an automatic entitlement and paid by the Veterans agency,  you still pay the AP, on collection, but once you have the vehicle, they will issue you a cheque for the AP you paid up to £660, but they do have to get authorisation from the VA, so better to get it sorted before hand

Indeed a bargain Marcus. I wish we, as benefit recipients got the Auto grant like war pensions do.

I hope you enjoy your car when it comes Marcus. I am not due to change car until May 2022. I am seriously thinking of going down the EV road.

Thanks Richard, Intra and Joss. Tbh I’ve had automatics on the scheme and have always payed the AP out my own pocket. Mainly due to the fact I didn’t know about the grant, until Insta mentioned it.

Joss, I’ve just done a rough calculation, with my daily commute which is twenty miles, I will be saving £770 per year in petrol costs. I am driving a CX5 2litre petrol at the moment!

I’m just coming up to 5k miles in the Kona, and my fuel bill, £98.56, it’s lovely not worrying about fuel costs!

Mostly I only charge to 80% as it’s so quick to that point and slows down drastically, especially after 90%.

Range at 80% I’m getting around 250 miles, fully charged between 290 and 310.
