I read with interest that Hyundai offer all cars on motability list come with Automatic as Standard. This is clearly stated in the Tucson brochure( under motability). Has anyone taken up this offer or indeed had experience of it.
Do you mean from the brochure at this link?:
https://www.hyundai.co.uk/brochures/brochure_tucson.pdf
pdf page 22 of 23 in the ‘Motability Plans’ box:
You’ll benefit from advantageous features like power steering, heightadjustable
driver’s seat and automatic gearbox, which all come
as standard.
Automatic Transmission comes as ‘standard’ if you order the automatic version of the Tucson and pay the appropriate AP for the automatic version. You can also order a manual one if you want a manual.
It is probably just the lazy way Hyundai write things in their brochures.
For example in the same box it says:
The Motability plan will enable some of you to purchase a Hyundai at a
preferential rate. If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of
the Disability Living Allowance, you’re entitled to access this excellent
scheme. In recognition of your requirements, many Hyundai models can
be ordered on the 3 year Contract Hire Scheme.
Which makes it seem that it is only open to those on DLA (not WPMS, AFIP or PIP!), it is all very woolly, probably from a Korean translation back to English.
