I was told by my dealers usual fitter that the car on order couldn’t take a hoist. In fact it was that the make of hoist he usually fits that wouldn’t fit, I had in fact in the meantime discovered one that would, and subsequently another fitter suggested a second one.

It would be really useful to have a database of which hoists + wheelchair/scooter + car can go together. I had an Autochair 200kg + TGA Supersport + Alhambra, seen in the photo, that was a squeeze made possible by a determined fitter/proprietor himself a wheelchair user. Later I had a 40kg hoist + Dash efold and Supascoota Sport + Hyundai Kona EV. Coming next should be an Elap V40X + Dash Efold + Jeep Avenger.

So what’s your experience of hoists, wheelchairs/scooters, and cars, please?

A database would be very useful for people.

        Keeping an eye on this.

I have one, and recommend it.

It easily folds up & goes with us – independent of car and weighs about 13+kilograms?

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I usually travel alone and have a problem with standing for more than a few seconds, so not sure that it would work for me personally, but I’m sure that it would for many others. What is it that you lift in please?

As you can probably see, by the number of edits, I was having a bit of a problem with the iPad , or my fingers, or both, so couldn’t get the full story in print?

The hoist is very easily manoeuvrable, even with a mobility scooter or wheelchair hanging off it.

It will lift up to 35 kilos, but is rated at a limit of 30 kilos,so it would be a bit of a struggle to lift and push it with your large Scooter attached?

I use it for loading and unloading my Pride Quest or my Travelux zoom4 ( minus the battery packs, and seat , although it has managed the fully assembled Zoom4 a few times (57 K’s)

I also use it to carry buckets full of sand, cement, chippings etc etc.

                Good luck with your search!
