Hi, I am handing in my notability car for a new one tomorrow and realise I cannot find the other key! Does anyone know if it is alright to only hand it back in with one key.

This is the official line but there has been much evidence of people returning the car with one key and still getting the GCB. It all depends if they have decided to clamp down in the last few weeks.

We lost the key to our last car, asked Motability if they’d replace it, they said no, but they also said it won’t affect the good condition bonus when we handed back. They were correct, no issues at all and Mrs Joe got the good condition bonus.

We were going to replace the key ourselves, but none of the smaller car key companies could do it as it was so new. Skoda wanted £380. We lived with 1 key for 12 months, though we did put an Apple Air Tag on the key ring.

Maybe just be upfront with Motability and speak with them today and expain you can’t find your spare key.
