Comedian Tim Brooke-Taylor has died at the age of 79 with coronavirus, his agent has confirmed to the BBC.

The entertainer, best known as one third of the popular 1970s show The Goodies, and I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, died on Sunday.

Goodies co-star Bill Oddie called him a “true visual comic and a great friend”.

The third member of the trio, Graeme Garden, said he was “terribly saddened by the loss of a dear colleague and close friend of over 50 years”.

“He was a funny, sociable, generous man who was a delight to work with. Audiences found him not only hilarious but also adorable.”

Oddie recalled some of the Goodies’ sketches in his tribute tweet, adding: “No-one could wear silly costumes or do dangerous stunts like Tim. I know it hurt cos he used to cry a lot. Sorry Timbo.”

Sad loss. Remember him most for the (now lost) art of radio comedy in I’m Sorry I’ll Read That Again, particularly his Lady Constance character.

Indeed, I went looking for my recordings of ISIRTA and Hello Cheeky, seems I’ve managed to loose them at some point when upgrading PC’s or changing hard drives etc. 🙁

There’s about 90 episodes of ISIRTA on the Internet but some are quite poor quality.

I have the DVD’s of “At Last the 1948 Show” and will be digging them out to watch 🙂

Sad thing is the BBC wiped quite a lot of the Hello Cheeky recordings to save tape and as I used to record them every Sunday I had more episodes than they did!.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Phaedra – lost recordings of ISIRTA a very sad thing. My sympathies (sorry, I have none either). Perhaps you should try to find Angus Prune to see if he has any!

              Good idea 🙂

There may be a glimmer of hope, I think I gave a copy to my late friend, his wife still has all his DVD’s and CD’s so when this is over I’ll pop round and go through them.
