After not being able to find anything and really feeling like my back was against the wall I have actually ordered a car!

I was due a test drive in a Mercedes A Class Saloon 1.3 petrol yesterday but cancelled it because there was a better deal on the table.

From having nothing we looked at the Volvo XC40 but the AP was eyewatering which led me to the A Class

We had been concerned by the Diesel Issue but have been assured that as long as its the Euro 6.2 (which it is) we have no concerns right now 🙂

So we popped into a locan dealers yesterday for an unscheduled test drive loved the vehicle and have placed an order!

BMW X1 18d X Line S Drive Automatic 🙂

We have ordered it in Sparkling Storm with the Oyster Leather Interior 🙂

Its the facelift model they wont be in the showroom for a couple of weeks yet but we have been assured the 6 month old demonstatrator we drove has the same engine and seats its just the lights,grill,bumpers etc have changed so they follow the new corporate look 🙂

We had considered waiting until there was one in the showrooms but they are looking at October delivery because I think people want to see before they order so i suspect the lead time will increase once they are out in the wild?

But yeh its like a breath of fresh air compared to my old Golf Estate 2.0 TDI DSG the transmission is smoother on the BMW,The picxk up better and it really doesnt drive like a diesel!

This time yesterday I was waiting for keys for the test drive and today I still havnt come down off the ceiling!

Yes, an excellent choice! Got mine end of March (X1 2.0d x line sport) just before Mobility took it off the selection. The auto box is so so good – smooth, seamless, the best I have driven. Lovely to drive and I find it so comfortable. I’m sure you will be pleased with yours. It’s a shame they are deleting the choice of Diesel models on many ranges, much prefer them – more torque, better MPG, run very clean as well on the new models. The Sat Nav is great as well, just say the place of where you want to go and it does the rest. Quick and easy.

Should be very economical being diesel and 8 speed auto ? How much was the AP ?

Well done, I hope you have fun driving it.

We should all be happy and exited about picking our brand new Motability car with the support package (financially worry free car insurance, servicing and all repairs), it comes with.

Although there are limitations in choice for some of our very defined needs, which could be improved upon with both choice and better AP’s, there is still a vast difference in choice from the early days, with some very desirable cars, (from most makes on the list) out there.
