After reading a recent post on suitability of there new car………if your unable to get a long term test of the vehicle you want why not hire one for a week or two just to make sure it meets your needs ? and then place your order ? Just a thought

You dont need long to hire a car. I looked into doing just that, but most car hire companies cant guarantee a specific model or trim, it is very much a case of whatever is available on the day of hire.
Never mind a long term test, a test drive longer than 5 minutes would be nice but in our experience is the norm.
My partner cannot test a car at all due to needing a powered hoist to transfer to and from wheelchair. That leaves me in the position of trying to be sure that the passenger seat is suitable but given that most cars don’t have the option of height or lumber adjustment on the passenger side it really is a case of make do anyway.
I should add that financially we couldn’t afford to hire a car just to try it.
a few dealers/manufacturers now do 24/48 hr test drives, i know mini do and our local bmw prob as theyre the same people. and it was easy to arrange. and they both had autos available even if not the exact spec.
i had a 24 hr test drive in the countryman and another half day a few weeks later. the dealer and the rep were excellant.
How about this my local Toyota dealer has a lot of used Toyota CHR hybrids if I offered them £50 could I have one for 2 days ?
