I had one for a couple of months. Didn’t rate it at all. It was the 1.0l petrol engine which always sounded faster than it was due to what I suspect was the sound of a V8 being pumped into the cabin. Fuel consumption was around 48mpg and that was mostly motorway driving. Didn’t feel particularly well put together and was looking very worn despite only being 2 years old. The seats were very basic and offered little support, I was getting a lot of shoulder ache which stopped once I swapped cars.

Pete DarbyshireNot the same car but have Focus estate ST Xline 1.5 eco boost auto.
Lovely car but electrical and electronic issues are hard to ignore, and Ford are well aware of the issues.
That said I’d still have another, for some reason people seem to love the looks of it and often remark.(Think it’s the desert island blue paint).

PaulThanks Pete ?
The Active X has a really great standard spec, it’s a bit higher up than a normal focus but lower than an SUV like my current X1 which suited me better when I sat in one yesterday, electric drivers seat, heated seats and heated steering wheel plus full panoramic sunroof all as standard plus the big boot, I’m going for one in Silver, 1.5 eco blue diesel, £995 which I don’t think is bad at all.
Jeremy Clarkson (for what that’s worth ?) reviewed one for the Times and said it was the best crossover no one will ever buy ?
It gets highly positive reviews from what I can see, thanks again ?
July 4, 2021 at 4:44 pm #157285I think going to the 1.5l engine is a good move as the 1.0l was too underpowered and the one I had was the basic spec so didn’t have any of the extras you have mentioned.

FiestaRedNot sure if it’s the same all over the UK but when I enquired about delivery on all Focus models I was told to expect 8 to 9 months due to different problems.

PaulThanks Eliott – yep most reviews say the 1.0l is a bit underpowered especially when the cars fully loaded
fiestared – I’m in Stockport and know the local Ford guy well as I’ve had cars off him before, he’s gonna order it a month early for me next week then bang it on the system on my 11th August order date, no probs with rejigging it if the price goes up either, hopefully it won’t drop off before then ?
He’s hopeful of me getting in in Nov/Dec but if it’s a bit later I don’t mind ?

VictorOneI was once looking at the Focus ST Line X, is that the ST Line Plus Active X or no?
I’m sure there was once a STLine Active X edition estate, or am I mistaken?
Ones higher isn’t it?

Paul<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hi VictorOne – yep the Focus Active is the higher one, Active X just adds more kit with ST line X being a more sporty spec and standard height model ?</p>
