I placed an order on the 27th November 2023 and I have barely got an update for the car from the dealer.
Who told me he would be updating me monthly but has not.
I am having to email them or ring them to find out and have now been told the car is on the boat.
I was not given a build date or any information on the stages the car was at.
Does anyone know how long i should expect to wait until I receive the car or its at the showroom.

Will all come down to how long it takes the car to get a slot on the transporter and then how long it takes the dealership to get the pre-release checks done. I’ve recently ordered my first car on Motability and the dealership says they normally expect about two weeks once its on the way

My first car took 4 weeks to get to the dealers from boat unloading.
Its just the luck of the draw, but 2-4 weeks is average.
The dealer phone you with a date for handover, when the car is ready. On that day you have a lot of forms to sign. You check the car is as you ordered and only then should you enter your pin number, which is a digital signature that you have accepted the car. They wil show you how the car works and you drive away.
@Sid you didn’t mention which car you order and from which dealer. Helpful info for others who may be interested in the same car. ?

What does she need to take with her to order the car ? Motability website is a bit unclear, I’m not an appointee just the driver, I he website says passport etc she doesn’t have one

Does anyone know how to track the car progress via the app or website as my dealer is not very helpful as they do not share any information with me.
It’ll soon happen and the delay will be a thing of the past. Just don’t get your next car from that dealership, vote with your feet.

Its not that the motability salesperson is keeping information from you. They do not know either.
The dealers only know when the car has landed on UK soil as custom have to register it.
The dealer only knows the status of the car when it gets dropped off from the transporter.
There are no apps that can tell anyone where the car is located. Would you like that?
The dealer is not hiding anything from you. They just do not know.
@Ioniq I was told you could track the progress of the car via the MyT app and have been reading the forum and other websites.
Not so, VW for instance can provide a tracking number for an order and you can see where the car is at each stage from production to shipping to arrival etc.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

You could have tracked your cars delivery from factory to dealer using myT app 🙂
