Ive picked up a handful of small schards of plastic schrapnel this morning from around the car and on the car, this schrapnel is as sharp and pointed as glass effin dangerous stuff.

Power hosed all the car down.

Plastic should be banned from fireworks if this is what the after effects are of it being used are.

Thats just after Friday nite, more nites to come yet, explosions going off that would not be out of place in war zones.

      BAN EM.

We once found a 3 foot long rocket stick in our conservatory, we were baffled where it came from until we found a 1” hole in the polycarbonate roof, it missed a leather sofa by inches.

Yeah it sounded like the Gaza strip here last night and we have days to go yet. I don’t see the point of bangers at all and fireworks should be allowed at licensed displays only.

To ban them, would have to be across the board and include not only Bonfire night but, also celebrations like Diwahli and the Chinese new year. To cancel ne event but, not the others, would be seen as cancelling out a culture or playing a card…

Tightened selling regulations limiting the number that can be sold to general public or preventing the handover of those sold untill the day of the display. The application for an i.d card to the local council if you plan on holding a small scale private display, enabling one person to buy and be responsible. More ivolvement 😂 from the police 😂 with confescation powers and the power to arrest the yobs on the streets😂

I do like seeing them and lucky enough to be able to view a large display, from the comfort of a back bedroom.

With reference to MickC’s warzone – I vividely remember when I was young, my grandparents comming on holiday with us and attending a organised display at Oulton Broads, my grandad had his eyes tightly closed with tears running down his face and would shake at the boom of the fireworks exploding, petrified but, he never spoke of his time in the war did he!

In the 60s and seventies my Dad only did home fireworks on 5th Nov and that was it till the next year and until we got older but now it is on all different days and weekends for any occasions or to make excuse to use them. I am not saying ban them for home use as I had many memories and get very excited by them and also my dad was strict he never let us light them only going by the firework code as it was but like anything lots are making it bad for the sensible people. As it is the UK I do think if they are still Available to buy there should be a Law to only use on 5th Nov unless there is bad weather and if that happens the next best day and that’s it  but I do think it would be hard to enforce unless the fine if caught is serious high that may deter anyone.

Where i live they dont just let em off from their own back yard, the actually put multi-shot boxes in the middle of the road.

Regards the banning i want to see all Boom Bang fireworks banned and no part of any rocket should have any plastic part…..thought we were getting rid of plastic because its so bad for the environment.

Ive just power hosed my car down again, covered in gritty grains of sand from rocket firework explosions.

Hose your car down if you are able use your your fingers to feel for grittyness, new car paint with water on it should feel like glass.

My neighbour has a motability car for 8 months now and it has never had a wash.

It has got out of hand and the fireworks for real displays were not always sold in the old days you mainly had them tiny bangers which I think were taken off sale in the 1980s. I do remember an old School hardware shop selling us school kids 13 and 14 I was at the time and of course they are exciting to us at this age and now wonder how we escaped with no injuries things I remember were mad like putting bangers in milk bottles over our park no one was around and running a certain distance never did that again. Did burn hands on them sparkler’s though and a very silly thing trying to light one indoors on electric fire bar holy moly got a light shock luckily. So did learn never to mess around with these explosives.

Ban the lot.  Purchases of fireworks should be by licenced people only, anyone else should be subjected to prosecution.  That’ll put a stop to the weeks of terrified pets, children and young people injured and damage to property.

I don’t care what the celebration is, if you aren’t licenced, you don’t get to use fireworks.
