The standard Enyaq 85, not X model has a maximum charge speed of 135kwh, we regularly see more than this, was getting 162kwh at Tesla, anyone else noticed this.

My understanding that 135kW (NOT kWh) is a nominal peak, not maximum. What you see is instantaneous spike i.e. a value at that moment only.

I also read somewhere last year that Tesla’s charging stations do not “talk” well to non-Tesla vehicles, hence the charging station will try and push the maximum it “thinks” your vehicle can accept.

Sadly my Master’s in not in this field, but I think there is a number of people on this forum, which can provide you with more detailed explanation.

I immediately though I new the answer, then I reliased, I’d forgot about the “X”😂

Therefore my first thought, your car was fitted with the LG battery (175kW), rather than the bewer CATL battery, which is now 135kW across the board.

I see where @kdwolf is coming from, but in practice thats not possible on it’s own. The cars onboard charger will throttle charging down to what the car is capable of recieving, in the same way, charging at lower kW than the car is capable of, see the charger throttling. Above all it’s a safety net to stop the worse happening.

My guess, is either Skoda made a mistake in the literature or the most probable reason, is your car was fitted with an 85x battery (if it existed), due to a shortage of 85 batteries. To go deeper both are the same LG 85kWh gross batteries. What set 85 and 85x apart was controllers for the onboard charger, it’s highly likely Skoda used what was in the parts bin, due to knowing in advance, they were changing from NMC to CATLE LFP batteries. It’s not the first time Ive heard this!

Found this, though needs translating https://www.enyaq-forum.de/forum/thread/5609-bug-or-feature-135kw-ladeleistung-beim-neuen-85er/?pageNo=1

I read some of that forum in Google translate, the post mentions a sept 2024 car, that’s when we picked ours up, it could be we have an 85x battery. Doesn’t stay that high for long and only usually when percentage of charge gets below 30%.
