Gas use 1083 kWh 10.33p 30 days standing charge 26.84p + £119.24
Electric fortunately I am still on the old Octopus Go tariff until March 2023
Off peak 264 kWh (5 pence kWh)/day rate 17 kWh (13.72 kWh) = 30 days standing charge 25p = total use 280.95 = £23.03
Total for November £142.27
I am expecting December and January to be a lot higher

AnonymousOur fixed deal has ended and this months actual bill from readings I provided yesterday is £265.05 Would of been £108.81 more if it was not for the Energy Price Guarantee. Gas used 1532.8 kWh / elec 260.0 kWh.
Plus we had a 2 week halfterm in october so we had to have heating on more during the day than we would.
Who knows how much it will be in april or next winter but it’s all part of the plan imo, blame a crisis to kerb usage by making stuff so expensive most cannot afford to do anything but barely exist.
I do feel many are going to suffer especilly if you have a smart meter and get behind and they switch you over to pre-pay and you cannot then budget over the year.
December 1, 2022 at 12:18 pm #201673We are on smart meters for both electric and gas, or should I call them dumb, they are now having a problem every single day. Fortunately, I have the facilities/equipment to record accurate readings.
We are at home all day, we built up some credit in the summer so should be ok until the spring.
I have seen some data bouncing around 64-67 pence kWh for electric and 16 pence + kWh for gas, they expect it then to drop to 45-47 pence kWh electric, not further data for gas.
Octopus Agile customer are now paying at peak times 80 pence a kWh
Our standing order normally is set at £110 month, but has been reduced to £43 until the end of March

If it is anything like last December/January i would now estimate my gas usage around the 1500 kWh which equates too around £150 + the dreaded standing charge = £160
Fortunately, we are £915 in credit there are some poor souls out there who are really going to struggle.

December 1, 2022 at 5:02 pm #201703Yeah, I’ve over 400 in credit still and a few payments to get yet but after April the shit will really hit fan for even folk who might manage this winter. They won’t likely next. I go on to pension soon so finances will take another tumble. Car may have to go

Pretty much the same here@struth I am due my state pension in April 2023. I need to find out how that is going to effect my current benefits.
Looks like making an appointment with either Citizens advice or Age concern to find out.
