A Heads Up!

Just took delivery of my X-Trail last Monday and fitted the new Echo Auto yesterday.

IT DOES’NT WORK!

Whilst this is an invitation only availability, Amazon are happy to sell it to you with the associated shipping costs (not to mention import duty), then when you try connecting it to the Alexa app on your phone, it does not show Echo Auto in the device list.

Reason… It is location specific and at the moment there is no date when this will be operational in the UK.

So, if you have an outstanding invite or are considering purchasing, be warned, you will not be able to use it until ‘sometime in the future’.

Amazon, back you go in the box you pesky little critter!

I was offered an Echo Auto, from Amazon USA, however when I went to order it, they said that they did not post it to Glasgow.

I have had an Echo Input which seems to do the same thing and I think it is great. I had a problem originally setting it up, but got help from this Forum and now it works fine all the way from Glasgow to Blackpool and back.

Its been badly reviewed in the states – nearly every single review says that “OK Google” + “Siri” which is on every phone and is free is a lot better and much easier to use – for android users combine this with android auto and the ability to read text messages and verbally reply to them etc it seems for once Amazon are too late to market with this device.

Hammerhead I am glad it is working for you, do you know if/how it is better than the Amazon Input, which seems to work well in my car.
