brydoDoes it matter if your faithful?
Matt Hancock has been captured kissing and fondling a work college, both are married, should he resign, be sacked or doesn’t it matter anymore.
He, more importantly say the media, broke the covid rules he imposed on the general public.
Boris doesn’t has a leg to stand on as he has no morals but what do you need to do to get sacked from this government?

I’m just curious as to why the video was leaked and why now. Perhaps it was actually to enhance his position. We will never know but I suspect there is more to it than meets the eye.
June 26, 2021 at 12:44 pm #156262i am not defending him in any way but its a bit suss to me how is there a cctv camera in a ministers office. ive worked in govt departments mainly mod but there is no way a cctv camera would be installed in a ministers office or high grade civil servants etc due to the sensitivity of documents and meetings etc.
so how were the pictures obtained ? definateley a security breach i think regardless of what he was up to.
June 26, 2021 at 1:29 pm #156266Conservative party members don’t select candidates for election on the basis of fidelity.
How CCTV footage can be released into the public domain is of much greater importance, I suspect Gove!

brydoFor “fidelity” see “trust”, cheating on your partner must say something about how trustworthy you are and how likely you are to keep any vows you make like the ” Oath of Allegiance” for example.
Or do we just accept everything and anything MP’s do or say?
June 26, 2021 at 6:17 pm #156294I am no fan of Matt Hancock. I do however, really feel for his Family. Silly man. Off with his head.

Feel sorry for everyone who has had to miss out on important family issues like grieving for a loved one, simply because we chose to follow the rules imposed upon us.
If he had any ounce of decency he would resign.

You “trust” an MP?
No no no, just try to put them where they will do the least damage until they become a liability, then get a new one in & repeat.

Yes, the wheels turned, local MPs consulted the members, local MPs got the cold shoulder meaning they either got rid of Hancock or they’d go too, the local MPs put pressure on central office, central office gave Hancock two choices… resign or get kicked out.
His crimes were many, but the one that got him removed was that of getting caught. By resigning it means that one day he could hold another cabinet post but that’s off in the future, if ever.

GeorgieWhen this sort of stuff is ‘leaked’ it usually means the Government is keen to draw Media attention away from some other nasty piece of work they wish to pass unnoticed. What bit of unpleasant/unpopular legislation are they trying to sneak through this week, I wonder . . .
June 28, 2021 at 12:29 pm #156510Perhaps it’s the fact that we are pushing ahead with fully opening the country when Covid cases are skyrocketing, hospitals filling up and deaths doubling every few days, the school population are caught in the perpetual cycle of isolation. My daughter is into her sixth period of isolation, it’s maddening.
June 28, 2021 at 5:03 pm #156533Perhaps things are not quite as you see them wmc.
What’s maddening is that schools send perfectly healthy children home because the might have been in contact with someone who might have contracted Covid which is unlikely to harm them.
Cases are not people who are ill and receiving treatment, they are people who have had a positive reaction to a test. With Covid within the population the more you test the more you find.
Hospitals are not filling up. In many of them they are no longer maintaining Covid wards.
Deaths are not doubling every few days.
The government have done a great job scaremongering.
June 28, 2021 at 5:43 pm #156535We will see. We all want this behind us but our local Covid ward is back open and full of young people, on Friday a 39 year old man with no underlying heath condition was carried out in a bag. The Government are not scaremongering, quite the reverse, they are pretending this is not happening and the exhausted public are happy to go along with it.
June 28, 2021 at 6:18 pm #156537The reality is that Covid will always be with us. There’s no use pretending that it can be eradicated. You are right the public are exhausted. We are now seeing the effect of the neglect of other health conditions over the last 16 months and the economic consequences of shutting the country down but continuing to pay people will be with us for decades. It’s time we got on with our lives, wmc, and stopped doom-mongering.
June 28, 2021 at 6:55 pm #156540It’s a shame you concluded with the doom-mongering comment. Hey ho.
June 28, 2021 at 7:07 pm #156541In my book saying:
“Covid cases are skyrocketing, hospitals filling up and deaths doubling every few days,”
is doom-mongering given that is not based on fact.
June 28, 2021 at 7:55 pm #156544I am worried that is all, I look at graphs and see trend lines. You should look at the data, through my eyes it’s cause for concern. Boom boom Boris can’t delay fully opening, his ego won’t allow it. I just hope my worry is unfounded. Perhaps if there was a little more trust in the health secretary, past and present, I would not be so worried. Covid is still taking a great toll on my family.
June 28, 2021 at 9:37 pm #156548really wigwam, a record 3000+ cases in one day in scotland. so cases arent increasing???
loads of scottish fans attending football matches and decending on london etc etc.
cause and effect???
the only good thing is there arent as many hospitalisations as the vacceine reduces the effect.
exactly as the medics say.
personnally i would rather put up with a little inconveniance a little longer to get more vaccinated.
June 28, 2021 at 9:45 pm #156549i would delay because you know exactly what will happen when they allow people out, they will go mad. even now weve had huge student parties as its end of year in nottingham. how many of them are going to transmit it home to parents or god forbid grandparents etc etc.
the same will happen all over the country when they are allowed into pubs with no restrictions. i do worry that as soon as they lift the restrictions there will be a huge new wave. what do we say then to the relatives of those who die? whoops we got it wrong awfully sorry but we wanted a night in the pub.
June 28, 2021 at 11:25 pm #156560I’m not trying to be insensitive here. Yes, people are still catching this virus and it makes some people ill enough to need hospital, but it’s not killing like it did. Vaccination, better understanding and treatment is working. People are mixing in outdoor events all over the country and there’s no evidence infection rates ate affected. People have to get their lives back. How long would you wait, with the consequences for other health conditions, kids education, the loss to the economy, etc?. We are printing billions of pounds of money every week with no way of covering the debt. There has to be an end to all this and an acceptance that Covid is part of our lives.
