So I went to the Royal Bath and West Show on the weekend. Very enjoyable day I would suggest booking in advance next year as it’s more expensive on the day and a Carer concession is only available in advance,

the site is laid out well for most disabled users with good facilities.

what other good days out should we recommend with the lessabled in mind.

I went to the CountryFile Live show at Blenheim Palace last year, won the tickets on Facebook and really enjoyed the day out. Lots of demonstrations, though more geared for dog owners i felt, but still very enjoyable. Lots of food outlets, but to be honest they were not cheap.

Adults are charged £30 each this year, and it’s on 2-5th August.

To be honest, I think this event is very overpriced for what it is.

Another show near me that is wheelchair friendly (sorry didn’t add that to the above) is Newbury show – they lay down tracks so in the event of rain causing muddy, soft surfaces you can still get around easily. The Newbury show is huge and sounds more on par with the Royal Bath and West show.

Adults here are charged £17 in advance or £20 at the gate – far more reasonable, and a better event than the Countryfile live i feel.

This one has been going on for years, before i was born probably, and it has such a lot to see and do – you simply could not see everything in one day so you have to plan to your interests. Here’s more details –

Have joined National Trust, already visited a few places. Am lucky as we have literally dozens of choices within an hours drive. Houses, Monuments, Countryside and, my favourite Coast and Beaches.
