Originally ordered a Skoda Enyaq 85x in race blue, but was at the innovation centre today and test drove a Hyundai ioniq 5 namsan, a Hyundai Kona 65kwh ultimate and a sportline one after the other. The Skoda is a good car, but was definitely in third place vs the other two. Now the decision is between the Hyundai’s; head says Kona, it’s a cracking motor but heart says Ioniq 5, it’s just ?. What were the main factors in making you change your mind ?

I also went to the innovation centre in Jan to do my test drives of the Kia EV6, Ioniq 6 and Skoda. Initially I was set on the Skoda, but after a test drive compared to the others it just felt a bit meh for me.

The hyundais are more comfortable, plus I’ve been in one for three years now so everything is familiar. More tech with less paid for options, and actual physical buttons which should be mandatory for some functions, in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t be upset if someone gave me an Enyaq, but personal choice is I’ll stay with Hyundai

100% – I’ve been a bit of a car snob in the past, so coming onto the scheme and experiencing a car I’d never particularly look at before was actually quite surprising.
