These are difficult times for all of us. This Forum was set up to form a community, a bank of knowledge and a place where we can support one another because like it or not we all have disability in our lives.
We need to return to these values.
We, as moderators, will be taking a harder line on topics and posts we feel are not in keeping with the core values of the Forum. Some topics will be deleted and while we are not attempting to quash discussion, we are attempting to make this Forum a happier place, as right now, that is what we all need.

One of the reasons I stay on this forum is that it is free of the senseless abuse posted for no other reason than people like posting abuse. Please do anything you like to keep it that way.

The main problem imo is some feel compelled to offer negative comments rather than constructive ones.
As my granny once said ” if you got nothing nice to say keep it shut” but it seems many threads on this forum that get closed down are because people cannot do that and negativity breeds negativity from others and then they use back handed insults and slurs, As if they cannot do something / or can do something they expect everyone else can and should do the same.
This is not the case we all different and why should anyone else be allowed to or even discuss a topic or even mention that topic that they don’t agree with is the main issue i feel.
Many a time believe it or not i have not posted a comment or a reply on a topic because nothing i can offer is constructive and if it’s not constructive it’s destructive.
The point and reason i am posting this comment is because this issue will not be solved imo unless it’s talked about and debated and pretty much like the society we live in these days it’s all gone to pot as far as that’s concerned (imo anyway) and is the new normal.
We are not here to change the (Motability) world, just have a bit of crack on, share experiences and enjoy each others virtual company. We can even help each other out a little along the way.
Hopeful everything will go back to normal offering each other some advice and experiences.

Feeling worse after visiting the forum is not, i am sure, is what it was set up to do, but thats how i felt after personnel attacks on me from four members. we should all feel safe to visit the Forum, say our peace and move on without experiencing aggressive comments.
My own opinion is that it is not the topics that are at fault its the handful of posters who continue to pick arguements know matter what the subject.
I have cleaned up some posts that contain what I consider conflict.
@oscarmax your thread regarding Brydo is one of these. For that I am sorry. I have emailed him directly.Can we all report, directly to the mods, any post that they find disrespectful, nasty or they simply don’t like.

Selenium greyI joined the forum just about three years ago & Brydo,JS, Pops and not to forget @winston, we’re all hear to help all of us. I Called it “The Family” Now after suffering a bleed on the brain and just recently started reading the forum I found it to be just like some family’s, some people have left for good, some don’t care what they write and harass other members who on the whole are just trying to help. I am now finding that at almost every turn of the page we have keyboard warriors who just want to stir he s**t up and argue because they can’t be held responsible !!! They are invisible ? This has taken me all day to write as I can only concentrate for a minute or so at the time. I will come back and read from time to time and see who got what cars. I am sticking with my Kuga as extended for two years to see if I will be able to drive again. Keep safe and BestWishes to ” The Forum Family ” you know who your are.

BigBear it’s great to hear from you, unfortunately the news on your health is not so good. I hope you get back to your normal ASAP. Winston made a cameo appearance a few weeks ago and, like yourself, it was great to hear from him. Pops is recovering from COVID and hopefully he will return at some point.
Keep popping in and, if you feel up to it, give us a wee post every now and again. Two years will fly in and you will be looking to get some advice from someone on the Forum so keep well BigBear and hear from you soon.

I’m all for free speech but there are some on here who hurl abuse at others just because they have a different point of view or just like to wind people up. It happens a lot on Facebook and has caused me to unfollow groups that are full of this nonsense. This is not helpful at all and as we have seen can put people off the forum altogether. We should continue to put forward opposing views but be nice about it. Stay safe everyone.

Hi Big Bear I take you have now had a stint fitted, in April 2005 I suffered a Traumatic Subachnoid Brain Haemorrhage so I feel for you, I was signed off to drive after about 6 month by my neurosurgeon, it is so difficult I had both a engineering and science degrees both now useless. You will improve just one small step at at time, you will have setback but just keep pushing.
